Top of the league and scoring for fun, the benchmark has been set high by Valerian's Albion these early weeks, and is not far off being matched by Saturday's hosts, Blackburn Rovers. With wins over Swansea and ten-man Forest alongside a draw against Millwall, Tony Mowbray has made a positive start to his fifth season at Ewood Park in the hope of building on their mid-table finishes since returning to the Championship. Though not quite the free-scorers that Mowbray made of Albion, Blackburn carry a goal-threat through the unlikely British-Chilean cult hero Ben Brereton, and have some star quality in defence in the form of ex-Liverpool man Daniel Ayala.

What this adds up to is a high likelihood of the usual tough encounter for the Baggies at Ewood. Our last visit, part of the summer 2020 promotion charge under Bilic, was a 1-1 stalemate; Big Dave sank to a 2-1 defeat the season before, and you have to go back nearly a decade to our most recent triumph, when Hodgson guided us to a last-gasp 2-1 win at Christmas 2011, our only three points at Blackburn in the last thirty years. High time we went looking for three more...

Injury time first half.... Stats say 50/50 possession but we've 10 goal attempts to their 1......
always need a 2nd goal...

Another solid win, and by the sound of it we could well have done it by a more comfortable margin. Fulham have pipped us at the top for the minute, but it's still a near perfect start.

Went to the game. Although only 2-1, it could have been 5. Very comfortable win, Blackburn’s goal was an error by Sam and outwith that they offered nothing. We were very comfortable throughout. Some finish by Mowatt Smile As ever, the support was great and the chips at Tebay services have gone down very well !

I arrived home at 7 30 from another impressive game from Ismael’s high press. 23 shots 11 on target and also hit the woodwork 4 times ., wait until we get used to this system. Have nothing but praise we start each game in such a high intensity the opposition cannot cope we will stop letting in daft goals and will blame no one as it’s still early days.

Great couple of reports /posts, chaps. Thanks.
Mirrors what the press is saying - should've won by a couple more at least.
Great start!
