I put my £1 bid in. I’m on the short list.

With 3 interested parties submitting bids and negotiations to follow this gets 'Interesting'.

Bids are based on Premier League status being preserved and a lower value should we get relegated.

This means Lai needs to sanction spend to ensure a squad capable of surviving and getting his full value from the club.

But: Didn't I read about a year ago that the Chinese Government had barred any further investment from its citzens (I think in overseas Football).

I definitely read that, but can't remember if it was a reputable source, though it would explain a lot.
Anyone???

All gone quiet on this topic at the moment. The Albion value must be dropping like a stone with each defeat and almost certain relegation.

The biggest concern I have is that IF someone wanted to buy the club do they know who to actually deal with - from what I read recently the actual ownership of West Bromwich Albion is very confused.

Once upon a time it was said that a buyer had insisted Big sam was put in place as part of a takeover agreement - maybe this was a cunning ploy to get the valuation reduced - Big Sam getting a bigger bonus for dropping our value than keeping us up?

I have seen it mentioned twice once when it was relating to why Lai could not pay back the money he owes the club, the other in an article related to why he could not personally spend any money on the club. Certainly has not stopped other Chinese owners of English clubs. Whistle

Stairs, surely you are not suggesting Big Sam is capable of dodge dealings, Laugh joking apart though and I am not suggesting that here, but more devious things have been done in the world of big finance. Whistle

This would make sense for him to not Lai, as it wouldn't make sense for him to put in more money to lose more money on a team in trouble. It'll be like being slapped in the face by a wet Wohun kipper or similar.Tongue

Maybe BBB, alternatively if he had paid off the loan, we might have brought in the player who saved us. Wink Wink

I agree Salop that would have been great, how Lai and Wohun was meant to be a joke = like he is.

The real problem is that Lai bought a club for a lot of money and value is plummeting.

Rather than sell he might batten down the hatches and take a two year strategy of rebuild and promotion to regain status a s hope to sell and recover some or all of his money.

If he did this he is likely to continue to ask us to rebuild by selling assets to invest in new players.

We could be stuck with this poisonous and stagnating ownership for a very long time.
