An 18 year old midfielder called Billy Beresford has joined on non-contract terms and is on the bench for tomorrows game against Gillingham. He is the son of John Beresford who played for Newcastle and Southampton and his Grandfather also called John played for Chesterfield during the 60s.

Now I can remember both Johns. Grandfather was decent at Saltergate. I don't think I realised he'd fathered John at Newcastle who was a team player, never a star. Delighted we signed Billy as we seem to have no players.
Four on the bench and three out on loan, doesn't make much sense to me, specially in the case of Banks who can't get a full game at Northampton in a team which has seized up. What good that's doing him is beyond me.
If Ryan, whose goal at Gillingham was brilliantly controlled, gets a knock our strong midfield will start to look threadbare. (It's great our juniors can beat Aston Villa, aren't there must be a couple of them capable of sitting on a bench in case of emergency?)
Now Margreitter has gone back to Wolves we look very thin. And Gardner worries me. He's obviously talented, but he comes on for ten minutes or so and is immediately injured. Afraid I'm heading towards the conclusion it wasn't talent keeping him out of league football, it was a lack of durability.
Loved us winning at Gillingham, but the two goals we conceded were amateur half hour. Has anyone in our defence heard of marking? On Gillingham's second goal I couldn't spot a Chesterfield player within a yard of a Gillingham counterpart. If we do that at MKD on current form it could be 37-0.

Billy Beresford wasn't named on the bench yesterday because his registration didn't go through in time.
Ollie Banks is back with us now because of the amount of injuries we have. Gardner is injured, Doyle is injured, Talbot still out but should be back after Xmas.
If Doyle leaves in Jan and Morsy goes to Cardiff and Armand goes to Tranmere or Luton then we are going to have hardly any squad left.

We haven't got an outrageous number of injuries. We actually lack players.
If Doyle were to leave, if I were Armand I'd stay.
Talbot's return would be a bonus.
Any news of the Iceland centre forward's trial? Jones getting back will allow Clucas to move forward.
But I still have this feeling that WHEN WE PLAY BOCO OUR CHANCES OF WINNING SEEM TO INCREASE. I'm shouting so Mr Cook can hear.

No one has heard anymore about the player on trial.
We need to sign Boco on a contract for 2 years, such a good player and when he plays we win.
Sheffield United are after Morsy and Ryan.
If all this so called gossip is true then by February we will hardly have any squad left. I think the squad we have with a few more additions are good enough to get promotion to the Championship.
