Lots of possession, easy win but no real tempo or penetration. Too many crosses with not enough support in the box. In short a very safe performance but that's probably what Southgate was looking for in his first game.

There is something wrong with Pearson, he has lost both his last two jobs by incidents to do with temper or simple stubbornness, both which he was in no real danger of being fired until he went off on one!! At the moment he is a no bullshit loser!!
I'm with Charlie on this one. Pearson sounds good. I can't help but feel he'd xxxx us up as bad as Turnip head though. There's a niche for managers like that and when the shoe fits magic happens. I don't think it's Intrnational level
