Why is it off topic, he's the bleeding ref in your game of the season so far. Is that not topical?

The content of certain threads that followed your relevant thread #3, in which you enlightened us re Thomson being the match referee, are indeed off topic and don't directly relate to the Hibs fixture v the Tangerines on Sunday which should cover the footie aspects and not be distracted by the iffy officialdom of such a misfiring ref. IMO these other threads should be moved to the more appropriate Craig Thomson OP that was compiled by hibeejim. Reference to Thomson could well depressingly arise after this match ends but here's hoping we don't do a 'Chris Sutton' and condemn Thomson again! I wanna focus on a decent footie result and game that are not corrupted by the shenanigans of another Scottish footie ref!!

Ha ha ha Laugh Lets 'call a spade a spade' and Thomson aint whiter than white lol! Also, much like any footie match I'm attending, I despise a shit ref 'being given centre stage' for all the wrong reasons and that view is no different from any forum match OP being given similar scrutiny!

Raith beaten by Morton and QOS only draw at Dumbarton this afternoon. So Hibs can go to the top of the Championship tomorrow afternoon with a decent win 'under their belts' - a nice wee challenge! Bring it on!

Huge incentive to get the win the morn. The pressure is now on lennon and hibs to deliver the goods.

Falkirk also held to a 1-1 draw tonight! What an opportunity to 'take a big step' towards imposing our authority on this league. It's been a good day for us but, as you say, can Hibs relax and ensure there's a good performance and result v United tomorrow?

Well, what happened. Fully expected Hibs to win today. What is up with Cummings? . Doesn't look the same player this season. Thought he would be banging them in for fun in this league TBH

Nae service to speak off really IJ. Keatings was better than cummings the day and he got hooked once again this afternoon. I'm not sure lennon rates him as much as folk think.

First half was good,2nd half got gradually worse and worse and it just looked like our midfield wasn't functioning as a unit. Mcginn and fyvie were desperate, and hanlon whilst he gave everything at LB if we had someone who could actually cross from that position we would have cruised the game. My verdict is that whilst we can pass the ball well enough we lack that extra bit of pace and cutting edge, not a scoobie in the final quarter too many times the day.

Utd were hardly better though, barring the young lad fraser?? they look a shadow of the side they were. It was never a corner for their goal by the way, everyone in the stadium could see it except of course the officials.

FT and a 1-1 draw - a great opportunity gone and a fair result on a lovely sunny afternoon for a game of footie and after reflecting back on the events at ER this afternoon. A nightmare performance from Jason and it surprised me that Lenny took so long to 'hook' him and try something different - eg a superb James Keatings playing alongside Brian Graham. What a great opening goal by Keatings from an exquisite 'weighted pass' through both DU centre backs by Andrew Shinnie - that was a top quality set up and strike! Thumb up A pivotal moment in this match was Gray coming off at HT - his overlapping runs gave the United defence some real probs in the 1st half! Eardsley looks like a solid enough defender but Gray's absence made our game plan so narrow in the second half and what a transformation to our defence inside 7 days due to injuries and suspension! Thumb down As for United's goal? Totally avoidable and should that really have been a United corner? I thought the Hibs clearance bounced off the coloured lad, Odembayie(?). However, giving the DU scorer a free header from about 10 yards was defensive suicide and reeked of uncertainty and disorganisation from a simple corner. Lenny would not be happy at losing that kinda goal! We had some decent attacking moves in the second half with Dylan 'ghosting in' late to attack the edge of United's pen box and why did various Hibs players opt to chip a high pass to a small mid player rather than just 'pass him in on an open goal'??? No awareness or guile to finish off United at a late stage of the game and they were there to be 'finished off' with the right incisive move!!
Still, we didn't lose this match and as for United? Their manager, McKinnon, made a number of positive substitutions to try and 'turn the game' and this ploy was partially successful! However, after watching United's exertions during this game IMO he doesn't have a balanced blend/choice of players and I don't regard this team as a threat to our aspirations for our season but I'm hoping they do some damage to the other teams around us in their future fixtures.
