More Injuries!!!!

After Foster getting injured with England and Dorrans with Scotland both maybes for next weeks clash with Everton. Now its Mulumbu who apparently has picked up a hamstring injury playing in an international.

While this may be fine for the big clubs with benches full of top class replacements when are the national teams going to appreciate how important these players are to smaller clubs. I don't know what the answer is as I would never suggest a player could not represent their country.

Mulumbu's injury looks a bit more serious than the other two, forcing him off after 26 minutes.

Frustrating Salop.... If, he isn't fit perhaps it would be an ideal opportunity for Yacob to put his words into actions and put in the sort of excellent perfomance he put on in his first season with us. That said, Mulumbu is usually an outstanding player for us and, in my 'umble opinion' would always be first name on the team sheet.

Why have we been getting so many injuries? And why are none of our new signings ever fit to play in the first month or so? Maybe these questions need to be asked as well?

Looks like we're having our usual Christmas injury crisis early for a change.

Mulumbu, McAuley and Foster will be big misses if they are ruled out of next week's match. Fortunately we now have good squad strength which should be able to cover for it.

Can't say I agree Josh, Myhill is great cover for Foster but if Lescott is still not fit Dawson is not good enough nor is Yacob or Baird to cover for Mulumbu

....obviously any replacement wouldn't be QUITE the same quality as the first choice - that's why the other guy is first choice! However I agree with Josh in that our replacements this year seem to be of a different class to those we've had before, and can HOPEFULLY step up without too much being lost Confused

On the whole the squad is stronger but them 3 mentioned aren't premier leagues players

Without the 3 we could still play a good side such as:

Myhill
Gamboa-Wisdom-Olsson-Pocognoli
Yacob-Gardner
Berahino-Sessegnon-Blanco
Ideye

Yacob may not give us Mulumbu's energy and all action play but he can just sit in midfield and play his normal game which could be good to combat Everton's very good midfield. That leaves Gardner to play the energetic midfield role and even though he isn't as good as Mulumbu, he can still do a good job.

Of course the above is just a contingency plan. Hopefully the injuries won't be to bad.

How can you class Myhill as a PL player but not Yacob?
