Yes - what is with Ideye. Biggest purchase ever and not featuring?

Maybe he will get a run out on Tuesday - against Bournemouth who scored 8 against Brum!

It's vital we score first to open them up - we may have put 4 past Burnley but until we scored from a set piece we struggled to break them down. I suspect we'll go with an unchanged team (except for Foster) but I wouldn't mind seeing Sess and Saido playing slightly behind Big Vic.

As I said.............. Whistle Fair play to Al for making the change early enough (though 45 minutes later than he should have

Well, what a relief after chasing the game for a second half that seemed to last forever. I felt we got out of jail but that's just the timing of their second goal and our second goal, because if you look at the stats it seems we shaded the game overall - Albion (Palace) Possession 60% (40%) shots 17/4 on target (8/6 on target) corners 6 (3). Really annoying to go 2-0 down to a team like Palace but they're no mugs, and I'm happy with just a point in the end. And JP will be happy Al got the rub of the green (see article in B'ham Mail midweek).

2-2 feels like point earned. Thought Sess was terrible and big Vic changed the game. Haven't seen a replay but thought poco hard done by for penalty ? Assistant gave it for handball ?
Palace are no mugs and was never going to be easy. At least we go above the Villa ?

No point in getting points against the likes of Man Ure if we slip up at home against teams like this,

We would have been better off losing Monday and winning today.

Thats Sunderland & C Palace at home we have dropped 4 points against already.

I still maintain that when AI plays the better players , Gamboa , Ideye. Blanco , Varela. Mulumbu, Yacob. etc etc we will do better,

We cry out for pace, and its strange we have been saying this now over the past 18 months.

A midfield of Dorrans, Brunt, Gardner & Morrison will not get us very far Sad

from what I hear they were unlucky not to get an earlier penalty and so I see this as a lucky point - moving on

Well that was hard work.

At times it felt like last season but Palace are far from the rubbish many claim.
Looking at other Albion forums it seems like many of our players shouldn't even be on the bench - the negativity is frightening.

Just my opinion, but some of our movement and passing was great to watch (as it has been all season). They were hard to break down and dangerous on the break.
Thought all the goals were sloppy from both sides and we were lucky with the 'penalty' that wasn't given.

My over-riding thought watching today was how far we've come since last season. It was a tough game and you can't just expect 3 points (that's for the big boys and MOTD - A Bournemouth walkover anyone?)

A deserved point. Onwards and upwards. Big Grin

And cheer up BeefBag
I can go a step higher than Aston Villa

Spot on Willie.
Beefy grab yourself a beef and cheer the hell up ! Palace were far from a bad team and we would have lost that game last season !
Thought Clattenburg had a shocker today but Man U and today both good hard earned points.
Wisdom brilliant again.
Keep the faith boys

I'd like to see Ideye up front with Saido playing in the hole just behind him.  Gamboa in for Wisdom to give us a little more attacking edge. With Sess too often going missing in games, put him of the bench to bring on if we aren't creating changes.

WBA 1996
You want Saido moved out of his best and most natural position when he is on a great goalscoring run, Wisdom (who I was unsure about to start with) replaced even though he has been absolute quality in his last couple of games, and Sessegnon (who I've already posted the stat about us only winning games that he has started since he signed) replaced after scoring a wonder goal against one of the best teams in the country?

I really have to respectfully disagree with you there BaggieMan

1996, today's performance was exactly why I suggested the changes. We had no pace on the flanks and although Wisdom (remember he's not our player) had a good game against Man Ure, he wasn't at his best today and with the best will in the world, is not a pacey attacking winger. Gamboa (our player) would have given us that attacking pace exploiting the wide open spaces on their right flank.

Sess was totally ineffective today and was rightly replaced at half-time. Sicknote coming on providing muscle and ball-holding which gave Saido space to play in the hole sitting just behind Big Vic in a 4-4-2 type formation. I would still have liked to have seen the pace of Ideye running at Hangeland.

Hey ho, it's a point and have to settle with that.
