Is Jones any good?

Is Jones any good?

Excellent statements from FF and DC

I hope Jones proves to be the missing link in the squad. His record suggests he usually backs the right horse in the promotion stakes. Like MS implied, probably won't do anything spectacular and may not get noticed a lot during matches but may well do the dirty side of the game that allows others to shine. Fingers crossed anyway.

I am very happy with the Jones signing. A solid competent player at this level and knows it inside out. Adds to our midfield which will help other players move around. If we had signed Bennett the other week we would of been in serious shape for the season ahead.

Great final paragraph in DC statement about FF.

He could be the perfect slice of average we need!

Lachman deal agreed to go to Willem II. Cheerio Cheerio Cheerio

The club has handled the spoilt brat superbly. I'm more than happy to move on and forgive.

Next time that dummy comes out though, sell him.

Just been reading some of the Owlstalk posts ... JESUS H CHRIST, 1 defeat and it's meltdown, I accept the critics, I accept it's the school holidays , but even I am baffled at some of the total BULLSHIZZLE posted on there, "our attack is crap", "CC is INEPTT (sic)", "Hooper is totally out of his depth", and my absolute favorite "DC & CC need to go now", is Owlstalk full of glue sniffing children from shiregreen ???, I know I can moan (though not as well as Imre), but FFS some of these people !!!!..Rant over, I do agree about the posts of moving on the deadwood however, although Stateside has mentioned Lachman, but Bus, Deliena and even McGuigan need to be offed , just to free up wages and help with FFP in my opinion.
We NEED a CB and RB of high quality, other than that I can see us picking up (starting against the unmentionables on Saturday) and kicking on from there for a good season

Opinions please gentlemen ..

People still read Owlstalk or the Kop End?

Thought it was just for schoolchildren.

We weren't good enough last night though Wereham, having to send us out with a lashed together back 4 is not what we expect if we are to push for the top spots. We knew last season where the strengthening had to be and it has not been done.
Desperately need experienced defenders who will not injured after two games.

Plus I've got tickets for Saturday and don't want to be coming away disappointed.£39 a piece they were as well and that's only on the Kop
Nothing changes,again.

It certainly isn't that bad. It is fair to say there's valid concerns regarding the lack of activity and movement around a club that has set such lofty goals for itself.
Balls have been dropped in my opinion, nothing that should cost anyone their jobs. We should just be doing better. Look more ambitious instead of whimsical. Foresight has been poor. When forum posters know what the Club needs months before the Club seems to it is a problem.
Lack of recruitment/Refusal to, lost us game last night, it could've been the difference between a win at Norwich.

The second string isn't good enough, no depth no real quality from the bench. Sougou, Mcgugan, Palmer Dielna, Bus, Nuhiu and Vermijl if he's just going to watch games.

We're not going to make the playoffs this season unless something drastic changes.

We are stronger than we were a year so I would expect to get a top six finish.

I think everyone is frustrated that the loss was against Burton after doing well against Villa and reasonably (missing FF)well against Norwich.
Typically things go well or bad for the promoted and relegated teams over the first 6 games due to a combination of either them needing to find their feet or the existing opposites having enough time to accurately suss them out.
Forr those reasons I agree with MS that Burton was always going to a toughie and there will be othe 'good' teams during the season that receive the same fate.
Win the next two and we get back to the 2 ppg average - continue winning and the ppg get s better !!

We've no idea what has gone on or is going on behind the scenes on recruiting players for the obvious holes/gaps but there is no way that CC is not very aware of the current sqaud shortfalls and not tying to do somehting about it. Hopefully as SS said we can off load a few off the wage bill and for a fee and get cracking on this issue.
