No disrespect ment has a man has lost his life , but never anything more than just another money grabbing player from an era when most of this madness started !!

I remember Dalian Atkinson as a player with great talent and physical attributes that never really fulfilled his talent. He was exciting to watch though and could hit a ball harder than most (usually hitting the post)!

Like Imre, I don't get over-sentimental by the passing of someone I only saw from afar and didn't know personally. However, like most right-thinking people I feel for his friends and loved ones who will have to cope with this unexpected loss. I reserve judgement on the police as they do a difficult job and have to make instant decisions about their own safety and those they are facing. If it is found to have been an avoidable death it just erodes people's faith in the arm of the law even further and does no-one any good, least of all the majority of officers who are good at their job. If there is a case to answer I hope it gets dealt with openly and those responsible are brought to book.

Internal Police Investigations hardly ever find the authority figure at fault. The officer will just say Dalian "was a big scary black man". The offcer(s) involved will enjoy a few weeks in Costa Del Sol.
Anything that self-regulates will be found to have some if not total corruption running through its spine.

No doubt we all have different or mixed feeling about the player. I was only 10 that season so my feeling towards him was that of a kid who idolizes the goalscorers. Never knew him as a person, the man behind the player. And back then footballers didn't tweet all day long so you weren't part of their lives like today.

The only money grabbers that deserve to die are the blue bloods at the top & the elite 5% in the world.

Anyway, should CC drop Forestieri tonight? If we were to win convincingly without him it would make him look a very silly boy.
His statement on the SWFC page is just an apology to the chairmen. Still doesn't explain much. He insists he never wanted to leave so must have been greedy. His agent or wife chirping at him. Someone badly advised him that's certain.

Both those statements were very well written and for me that draws a line under this mini-saga. Get him in the team and lets win this game.

Imagine you start a new job. You sign a contract but of course want a pay rise. Knuckle down. Work your balls off for a year and are top performer. Instead of being rewarded as best employee they bring in other employees on maybe double money, longer contracts. You go to mgt and ask for more money which is refused. At the same time a competitor tries to entice you away offering you a lot more money. What do you do? How many of us haven't got the rise we want and found another job. Ok we didn't decide to go to work but we prob turned up and looked for a job all day. Would you rather foriestieri play without any passion with his head elsewhere. Might be harsh but at least he forced the situation and had the balls to apologize.

We don't know if he did go to management before he spat his dummy out. I can sympathise if he did. But, I'd find it incredibly hard to believe that such a scenario would go down involving FF.
DC & CC both know his value to the Club and are unlikely to cause disharmony in that regard. He's accepted his fine so that would lean more to the side of Forestieri or his agent/whoever going behind the Clubs back. You wouldn't accept a fine if you'd already been treated unfairly.

He should start tonight though, I reckon it'll all be forgotten about soon enough. I'm sure after DC & FF sitting down together the problem can now be addressed. Smile

Semedo and Hutch CBs tonight.

FF on the bench.
