Just not going to be his tournament!! But then he is just as likely to score a hat trick in the next game!!!
Officiating has been very good all tournament so far, nothing really controversial at all and no flurry of silly cards either.

Has Ronaldo ever shown up in the big tournaments? Does the pressure of carrying an average Portugal team get to him? Does he try too hard? Does he want to play for the Blue and White Wizards?

I think he averages 1 goal per tournament in World Cups and 2 goals per tournament at the Euros (excluding this year so far), so I wouldn't say he's ever lived up to his self-proclaimed billing as the best player in the world at any of these events.

Messi's problem with Argentina has often been that the parts they have don't fit into an obvious whole, and they struggle to find a working shape that makes best use of him. The Portuguese side on the other hand is built around Ronaldo. However, I do agree that both of them suffer from not having the best of the world's multi-million pound talent making life nice and easy for them the way they do at their clubs in Spain. They might be better than most of the other players in their national squads, but they don't really shine above them and help them exceed their natural level the way guys like Hagi, Stoichkov, Nedved and even Bale have done.
