I was looking through the retained lists of prem teams yesterday .Chelsea have 82 players signed up.What's all that about ???? .There's clearly too much money knocking about when up to 50 players at each club will be paid not to play for their clubs this season .

The EFL said it was piloting the changes as part of their "ongoing commitment to creating more and better home grown players".

I'm sure in a few years time when the captain of the England World Cup winners, looks back on his career he will say that playing in the EFL Trophy as an u21 was the making of his career.

Turns out at the start we were against having Premier League U21s put in the Football League Trophy but it sounds like our CEO was persuaded and decided to vote for it.
