Lavery could be heading to Coventry.

Price, Wallace, Semedo & Lavery out of contract. Wallace is the only one that will probably get a yrs extension , I expect a better signing to make him a bench player.

Price is terribly shit, I can't believe it actually I was a better goalie at U-18 Laugh Wildsmith & Dawson are capable of stepping up and developing. No reason to sign another keeper.

So much depends on CC's tactical plan for next season.

Wallace is the only player who looks comfortable playing wide and even he looks better when tucked in. It would appear that our players are better suited to 433, 4321 or 352 with full backs for width. If we play 442 then we need two new wingers but this will probably force us to leave out one of Lee, Bannan & Hutchinson.

Wallace will probably be mainly a bench player next season. We need a better striker, an upgrade for Wallace, possibly full backs and a young CB to eventually replace Loovens.

Definitely need FB's IMO. If we're to sign Pudil he still isn't enough. And Hunt needs better competition than Palmer, to push for a start.

Striker, absolutely.

I feel the same about Wallace ( as above )

I actually think 3-5-2 or another permutation 5-3-2 is quite effective with attacking fullbacks.. I can't remember a day in my life when Sheffield Wednesday adopted it though.

Howard Wilkinson used 532 to get us promoted in his first season.

Well that explains it for me, I was only about 4 at the time. Laugh

I remember a few years later when I started getting into footy and The Owls, My old man and his mates talking about how Wednesday should have been in Europe were it not due to another disaster involving Liverpool fans. I don't know too much about that though.

I'm with Wilko though. I'd like to see 532 with over-lapping FB's IMO it creates turmoil in the opponents space between DF & MF.

Most teams in SBC play 442, 452 or 4231 so when a good team plays anything different, the other teams struggle to adapt. Hull's previous promotion was based on playing 352 and Leicester regularly played 352 in their promotion.

Radio Sheffield reporting we have offered a new contract to Lavery.

That would be the Heysel Disaster (or Riot depending on your point of view). Wednesday would have taken the last Uefa Cup place (I think it was) at the end of the season but the Scousers kicked off in the decrepit Heysel Stadium before the start of the European Cup Final against Juventus and a wall collapsed killing many Italian fans (I can't be bothered to google the number).

Never seems to get mentioned as much as some other disasters I could mention.
You know nothing, Jacko
