I knew Dougie reasonably well Fredster - in a professional capacity when he worked with a Transportation Consultancy located in Embro City Centre. I remember when he got his 1st Premiership match at Ibrox. I think the match was Rangers v Aberdeen on a lovely, sunny August afternoon. He was still just an excited young lad gradually working his way up the ref ranks. The events that unfolded later on at Tannadice were a huge surprise and uncharacteristic of him as a person - I lost contact with him by then, so it's still a mystery what actually happened but it looked like he had some kinda bias against Celtic. His folks would've been hugely disappointed at the time! I personally think that any footie club official who formally 'bad mouths' a referee, does it at his/her peril and the peril of that relative footie club - a personal bias could prevail in certain cases!

I never thought of that, a bowling club clique of freemasond conspiring with the Orange order to get Falkirk promoted, sorry, stop Hibs getting promoted.

Amazing that all they had to do was nobble your strikers and lumber you with a load of midfielders that never score.

Until someone is in court and found guilty then yes it's clean,now the sun has investigated virtually everything as it does if that had a sniff corruption in Scottish fitba it would be all over it to my knowledge there has never been an investigation in our game because there is nothing there,refs make mistakes and now it's accusation of match fixing lol

I'm not saying the game was fixed midweek,what i am saying is between allys bulging notebook of gambling football players and a footballing authority that is far from squeaky clean - it leaves a lot of room for something of that kind to happen.

Its funny hearing hertz fans mock the idea when all my jambo mates whine on and on about love street 86 being rigged. I prefer to keep an open mind on the subject.

I don't have an impulse to prove people wrong, but I'll happily pour scorn on any idea that a team's run of poor results or a refereeing error is due to "match fixing".

Of all the recent cases of match fixing that have been publicised it has involved gambling: I haven't read about anything involving the groups alluded to in your ludicrous suggestion. Which is it held any water would see said groups prefering hearts promoted over Rangers and also Motherwell in the top league. 

It's just nonsense.

Now you can make some more silly remarks regarding Fred and I being in general agreement with each other. Not only did Hibs get denied a penalty as part of this conspiracy but an outcome of 2-2 was the desired result.  

How will all this insanity, built on finding excuses for Hibs failure, square ifHibs get promoted and win the SC ( which obviously can't happen due to the conspiracy you subscribe to)?

Would that be a fix? Or would it just be that Hibs very poor strike rate and leaky defence get it together for a run of games?

I'd really like to known what evidence there is to support the assertion, because I'll bet that for every refereeing mistake that you claim cost you a game I can find a glaring miss in the same game from one of your own players or another refereeing mistake that favoured you.

Football is a game played by humans and humans err. Referees don't make anymore mistakes that players they just happen to be higher profile than the player mistakes.

And this is were you, probably without realising and you'll probably deny it, support my rational: in 86 Celtic couldn't guarantee a win and neither could Hearts, not even with the help of the referee, but St Mirren could guarantee their own defeat. And that is what the Hearts fans will be putting forward.

Could a match be fixed in scotland? Damn right it could. Has it happened ? I'd say probably yes. Could our squeaky clean custodians have ever turned a blind eye or been complicit? I wouldn't rule it out.
