Beefy, could you work the same miracle for my services on Sunday, please? You get a rep point if you double the congregation.

I think the trick is to invite the BBC along. It worked for Reverend Atkinson!

Firstly a huge welcome to all of our new posters and an emphatic statement that this post has nothing at all to do with you guys and please, please, please, do not let it stop you from posting, it is in no way meant towards you and it is purely an observation to existing members of this forum and an example of how free we feel to post what we think.

So that out of the way, I have to get off my chest, how disappointed I am that regular posters now think it is OK to give away rep points like smarties, you have managed in one thread to totally devalue any value rep points had, if any.

When you think we now have posters who have more rep points for one post than the likes of BBB, 4evaabagggie, worldclasalbion, Baggievicar and many more (yes, including myself) who have many thousands of posts between them.

Now I know this could and probably will by some, be viewed as sour grapes, but I think the point should be made, that rep points are supposed to be given for contributions, if they are to have any value at all.

Old time posters will already be aware that rep points have always been handed out far more freely to posters who are known to them, but this is in my opinion a step to far, and someone had to say something and I guess it has fell to me.

My apologies if anyone feels this is aimed at them personally, as it is not, it is just an observation of the situation as a whole

How Disappointing especially from you whom I like as a poster by the way tries to devalue the effort to get new posters on board Angry
They probably are unaware of what a rep point is.
It's your opinion which is fine and if it's me you targeting that's fine also and if you think awarding a Rep is wrong to entice more posters on here it's your prerogative.
I just hope the negativeness of your post doesn't put new posters off, which after all is only what i tried to achieve in the first place Thumb up
