The users on here are amongst the best on any forum,
We agree to disagree on numerous occasions but that's what makes this site work.

There's currently 71+ guests on at the minute reading the threads on the forum. The other day on the Chesterfield forum there was 12 guests reading the threads.

All - regardless of what some might suggest (so I hear) - there are no issues with registering and participating on this site.

But if people are having a problem registering they can contact me directly at sportsbabble@gmail.com and I will sort out membership issues personally. I have done this for a number of members over the years

The registration process is needed to stop us getting swamped with rogue memberships created by computers. We just send an email to the person registered and ask them to reply as a confirmation. Not difficult really - but it does rely on the ability to provide an valid email address

FYI - Typically I have over 40 rogue 'new members' pending per month. Either people who failed to spell their email address correctly and so don't get the verification email or registrations by robots that fail because of our process. I email them all myself in case one of them might respond and I then manually enable their membership - maybe 1 in 40. The rest I then delete.

If a person is complaining on the site then they are a member!  There are no restrictions other than the obvious word censorship. If they can't post a thread, reply or other then its 'human error' on their part.  The only time 'we' step in is if they are out of order and that will be a conversation and then a short ban and potentially permanent ban.

Having been shot to pieces in the early months over heavy handed censorship, which was in error and we apologised, we leave the general management of members to the moderators. They do a sterling job on this site, they do this for the love and they know the pulse and behaviour on the individual boards better that us and so we trust them to make the right decisions.

As Albion fans I would expect you all to recognise the quality we have in Ska'd, there are others on other boards doing similar excellent jobs.

We try to keep the site clean and allow folk to talk football. We don't customise and so don't have any real support headaches. Mark provides the services free of charge to me/us. He also supports the software, performs upgrades and fixes faults as required. No-one is making money and so if there is an occasional blip (maybe two or three over the two seasons we have been live) it has been due to a outage or upgrade of a server.

I can live with that given the up time is over 95%.

Keep posting guys. We have a summer of speculation ahead of us. If you are not a member please take the plunge and join. As Beefy says, I take pleasure of the variety of conversation on here and I'd love more members as that brings greater range of views etc.

My biggest sadness at the moment is we don't have more clubs represented.

Beefy be careful;  Bournemouth and me (present and retired Bankers) have you outnumbered...so watch it!

In any case you must not show discrimination against any known minority and, after all the enforced retirements in recent years, Bankers sure are in a minority
