Hibs v The Sons: Tues 26 April 2016
#1
After another lacklustre display at Cappielow, and missing out on closing the pts gap on a stuttering Falkirk side, Hibs move on to their penultimate Championship fixture at ER v Dumbarton. So how does Stubbsy tackle this home fixture? Well I would like to see Hibs/Stubbs 'throw caution to the wind', and follow the fine traditions of decent Hibs sides of old - lets field a strong, attack-minded team and see how many goals we can score against Dumbarton on Tuesday night!! I thought we could've scored quite a few goals v a dodgy Rangers defence at ER last Wednesday night and we only scored three goals but deservedly won the match all the same, amazingly only by one goal!! For once, 'lets go for the jugular' as there's nowt to lose but lots to gain if we can somehow give the Sons a 'tanking' and take the initiative away from Falkirk with another home game to follow! I notice they've just saved themselves from a relegation play-off place. So hopefully they'll be in a psychological lull of relief. It could be just the right time to hammer into them early, keep pounding away at them and see where it takes us!! Thumb up I hope Stubbs sees this match in the same light and absolutely goes for it with the proper Hibs lineup chosen and primed to succeed!! When I played footie, I was never one for giving up any match without a fight and the same applies to Hibs situation with two matches remaining!! Here's hoping for an epic night!!

I know you've been on a poor run of form, but you're not that bad.

The morbidly obese goalie will come on and keep it or 3 or 4.

I think Hibs/Dempster 'missed a trick' by not reducing the match ticket prices down to say, a tenner, just to 'put bums on seats' and try to attract Hibs fans in to this match in reasonable numbers. It looks like it will be a reasonable night for watching a game tomorrow and Hibs really could've been cute on trying to enhance a positive atmosphere for the players!

Weather forecast not great for tomorrow night and I fear a really low crowd. Agree 0762 it would have been good to try and encourage a few more through the turnstiles.

I'm also forgetting that the Champions League semi-final 1st leg @ the Etihad Stadium will be televised live on the same night. So there is a distraction for lotsa fans as well!

I'm hoping for a 3 or 4 goal win tomorrow night, but I've yet to work out where the goals are coming from. Realistically our best hope is for two wins for Hibs and a draw for Falkirk. Actually two wins for Hibs would be a triumph in itself!

The time to go on a winning run would be in the play-off games and the Cup game - that would make for a brilliant season. Don't wait for others to help us. Hibsters are doing it for themselves!
