If Sunderland go down I`d take Sam Allardyce as 9 times out of 10 he`d keep you up whilst playing more entertaining football
than what Pulis serves up, the bloke doesn't get the credit he deserves as he has at least tried to move with the times ,
Bolton,Westham,and Sunderland have all played decent stuff under him.

And Bolton and West Ham fans constantly complained about his style of play during his time there!! West Ham fans are a bit like Baggies, always going on about the "style" of football that you play when the reality is you only really had that swashbuckling style for a few seasons, and that was a long time ago!! Teams go through phases with styles, as does football itself, no team has a divine right to be the "ones" who play the nice football!!!! Palace played some very good stuff when Pulis was there, aren't they now below you in the table with their new swashbuckling Pardew style of play?? Be careful what you wish for, or all the West Midlands derbies could be taking place in the Championship in years to come!!

I usually like your posts, Charlie, but can you please define which "few seasons" you are on about.
West Ham have nowhere near the pedigree that Albion have of "swashbucking" football - it's just that the media keep going on about "the West Ham way", whilst Albion's reputation is confined to the West Midlands only. We accept that we are pretty anonymous so far as the cockney press are concerned.
It's been some years now, but I grew up watching Albion's 50s/60s/70s/80s "swashbucling style, which the rest of the West Midlands admired.
I feel you were trying to be provocative - well, you've got me going!

Don't ever remember Bolton fans wanting Allardyce out as iam pretty sure he got them into Europe finishing 6th and then
7th,8th,and 8th after that, also played proper full backs with Ricardo Gardner who was lightning quick and had the creative spark
of Hierro,Djorkaeff,and Okocha. I know Newcastle and Westham didn't really work out for him but those two clubs supporters
would moan at anything ie Alan pardew, even at Westham Allardyce was prepared to move with the times and played an attacking
diamond shape in midfield which was pretty successful.

It certainly seems Paul Scharner thinks Pullis should not be here next season and JP needs to pull his socks up by the sound of it

Think Pulis will take us into Europe next season with signings like James Forrest and Charlie Mulgrew  ,
players like that are in the same sort of league as James McClean and will never move the club forward.
That's two things that really worry me about Tony Tulip his training methods and his inability to attract
decent players.

"Huth the Hoof" is now being linked, though I suspect that is mainly paper talk as he is available on a free and Pullis took him to Stoke.

As you point out more concerning is the quality of player we are bringing in. I know we will disagree over Rondon, who I think gives his all in most of the matches he plays in and shows flashes of quality when he gets the service rather than him having to chase all over the field tying to get the ball, though he has gone off a little of late.
Fletch is showing a touch of class in the twilight of his career and Jonny Evans was a reasonable signing. I will not get you started on McClean, who I think does give his all and at times causes opposition defences some problems.
Even those players mentioned could not be described as world beaters, however when you look at the rest, you have to ask the question, if they are not good enough to unseat our existing players, why are they being bought in. This data is a little out of date and it is a rehash from an article from the Birmingham Mail in February, though most have not changed greatly if at all.

Now I am not saying we should be going out a paying mega buck for household names, in fact I would rather lay out £10 million on bringing Dan Ashworth back, who seemed to have the ability to bring in talent on a shoestring, imagine what he could have done with the money spent since he left!
Our problem as I see it is we crisis buy to fill holes rather than trying to build a team and the fact we have the oldest squad in the Premiership, I think shows the level of ambition we have. It seems every player we look at is over 30 or very close and when we do have anyone younger they sit on the bench, if they are lucky.

Still think Pulis was to quick getting rid of Ideye as him and Berahino seemed to clique both on and off the pitch.
If we got rid of Tulip then we wouldn't have to spend millions on new players as the squad is already at the club but just not used,
maybe replace Sandro,Pritchard,Lambert,Anichebe, and try to convince Berahino to sign a new deal with a more attack minded manager at the helm.
