It would be a particularly hateful and jealousy-driven individual that would deny any football fan their club's history.

If it was Arbroath or Peterhead they wouldn't give a monkeys - but because it's Rangers the envy takes over.

Yup - "We can't be as good as them, so we have to try and denigrate them at all cost."

Some of them would even rather their own club ceased to exist than Rangers continue to be.

Same of the same Fredster! Go back 3-4 years and it's a set dialogue that they rigidly stick to. As you say, if it was another football club they'd be in their irritatingly best form but unfortunately the nightmare scenario applied to their cherished footie club - hard to take 'on the chin'. Hence the defensive claptrap. I'd call it their 'fallback position',  which has been unimpressive for long enough and this forum is not the only one where they've played the same poor 'card hand' to an unimpressed audience.

Our "fall back" position is to accept the word of our Association chief and to accept the legal rulings that say Rangers are the same club, and to refuse to accept the rabid wishful thinking of haters and miscreants.

The question you have to ask yourself is what is the reasoning you have for ignoring legally binding judgements in order to continue to promote your myth?

Hopefully we will be leaving them behind this season, and perhaps they can then bore drop dead Fred with their irrational musings.
