Hopefully Coop but not an easy place to go.....especially coming just after the wee cup final....injuries and confidence will play a part depending how that goes.    Huh

With 20 minutes to go Henderson and McGinn had both gone and AS could / should have made a change. Again he seemed reluctant to do so finally bringing on Dagnall for Keatings with very little time to go. Doh   I'm sure Boyle or Carmichael, although not the same type of midfielder, could have come on with 20 to go and got around and in the faces of the ICT players. As time went by it was only going to go one way.

Pity Dylan is injured again.....he really is fragile. At least Bartley will be back for the replay.....we did miss his physicality against a big side.
Plus note for Thompson today who didn't shirk any challenge.   Thumb up

In fairness to the referee....he was sh**e towards both teams.....rubbish+++    Doh

Midweek game up in the Highlands doesn't inspire confidence but we do have the better half of the semi final draw to hopefully give them something to go for.

Thought we were decent enough,a bit unfortunate not to be through. We visibly tired last 20 mins though and the gaps opened up.

Going to be be a big ask to get a result up there..but possible.

Just back from the game and good, accurate comments re this match. I thought we played very well and that's another Premiership side that certainly does not look any better than Hibs and we're still unbeaten against these teams!! Thumb up Thumb up  We 'let them off the hook' when we finally got to grips with their formation after Dylan's injury. IMO that injury is down to the fools who decided to field him when he's not had enough rest to recover from that type of injury! I predicted that injury happening before arriving at ER and was spot on - it was a Stubbs' gamble, the wrong one! Thumb down  Also did you hear the persistent whining from a number of ICT players re Hibs physical challenges during this match???? We hit an identifiable weak spot and Warren should've been sent off the pitch for persistent dissent + persistent fouling - he was on a yellow card and this ref, Crawford Allan, backed off sending him off because he knew the guy had a yellow card to his name. The same goes for Tansey - second yellow card  offence on their left side when he unceremoniously fouled David Gray - a refereeing coward and the whole of the East Stand fans rose to tell this inept ref what a tosser he was! He's been at ER before and performed in the same way on numerous occasions. John McGinn given the MOTM award for a decent performance but IMO James Keatings got it with a terrific 'up n at em' display. He put in more work in this match than he's done in the past couple of months lol! And I'd say Stubbs finally subbed a tiring Keatings after a massive verbal assault from fans in the East Stand who were flabbergasted that the manager didn't look like he was gonna use any subs to replace tiring players when ICT were pressing us!! Thumb down We've discovered from this match that Stokes and Keatings actually have a better understanding than the Cummings-Stokes pairing although it is still very frustrating to watch Stokes!! Lastly, I can't believe Fontaine missed scoring a goal from a foot off the ICT goal line - a shocker! Doh He had a decent game but what a pleb not to realise 'roofing the baw' is what you do in that situation - ram it home into the net FFS!!
The bigot brothers paired together in the other semi-final (that'll be 'tasty' and d'ya think Rangers will live up to their recent publicity stunt re life time bans in this match? Huhhh!!), so lots to play for and I might even travel up to Inverness to back the Hibs in this tie!

Thought stokes did well today, unlucky to hit the post. He gave the ball away a lot in the latter stages though. I just wonder if cummings and stokes are a bit too similar to be a partnership? Keatings and stokes looked a bit better as keatings put himself about more and held the play up better. I wonder if the games are starting to catch up with us a bit now though as last 20 we fell right out of it.

I thought mcgregor was excellent the day,he really has proved me wrong this season. Good signing.

Yep! Although Darren Mac really started slow in the first 15mins hibeejim - he was giving me severe palpitations in the East Stand: just seemed very casual and 'off the pace' of the game but improved greatly later on. IMO we don't need an additional fixture in Inverness but 'c'est la vie'!

I watched the tv highlights on bbc tonight and did that ref miss a pen with the trip on Hendo defo on or above the line of the ICT pen box? - a f#### pen kick? And the goalie's save from Stokes' low, goal bound shot - the lucky b#### has just got a finger tip to the shot, otherwise it would've gone in off the ICT goal post before Keatings banged it in from an offside position - talk about fated and fine margins FFS. The funniest moment definitely was when Malonga's brother scored ICT's equaliser, Yogi has assaulted his own player in supposed celebration by rapping him round his lugs!!! The lad was sitting in his dugout seat wincing in pain behind Yogi! F#### priceless Laugh Yogi probably said, 'Score against my favourite Leith fitba team eh' - WHACK, OUCH!!!! Laugh What a guy and a staunch hibee at that!

Yeah may well have been a pk - we can't complain too much though Wink

I think the highlights underlined how well keatings and stokes played together. Stokes took 3 inverness players out the game with that wee touch for the goal. Means we can give cummings a wee break maybe.

That's a good point re Stokes hibeejim! I can only assume he tired in the last quarter. Hence the number of mispasses. It's also noticeable how many Hibs fans have lost patience with Stokes during that end period! Played reasonably well but still no goals and no prolific pen box striker. Also baffled why Stubbs never brought on Farid - we watched the big man alongside Stokes during pre-match warm up and he was impressive in the striking dept! I'll predict Farid will play a pivotal role in the end of season challenges and pray that lady luck favours us with injuries, match fitness etc and we have a full squad of players available. I believe we are a smidgeon away from having a very impressive Hibs side and Stubbs efforts will eventually be rewarded.

Pressure is all on them for this tie now Exeter, i'd take you to catch them on the break they aren't the quickest at the back, and their midfield looked very lightweight to me.
