Mark Warburton's management style was a big draw for Billy King joining Rangers.

Again, that's not true. He never told the lawyer it had been paid back, he told the lawyer it was in the process of being paid back. The lawyer misunderstood and made his erroneous statement to the court. This account of proceedings was backed up by court observers who noted King's reaction to the lawyer's words.

Anybody could buy the oldco out of liquidation. At the point were the liquidator declares that they have realised all possible income and distributed to the creditors an offer can be made for the company.
