Myhill or Foster?

Now that Ben's back, up and running, is he an automatic no.1?

I say "No". I rate Boaz very highly, so I believe Ben should bide his time on the bench, and not be brought back in a knee-jerk when Boaz makes an error. (eg like Ben v Villa). Ben's England no. 2 or 3, but that doesn't make him automatic, in my view.

ps Lindegard came here knowing the score, and will surely return now Ben's recovered.

Dunno.
Could be Myhill, could be Lindy but, on the other hand could be Fozzie.
I used to be indecisive but now, I'm not so sure,

Morning All,
Read an interesting comparrison of the top ten keepers currently in the Prem on Sky sports site , and Boaz compares well against the likes of Hart, Chec, Butland De Gea and all, so we should not be looking to throw Fozzie straight back in. In any other position, except perhaps top strikers, if the person covering for injury is not doing a bad job, then the returnee would have to fight for their place, and this should be what we do with Ben.
A couple of games in the U21's will not hurt to build up his match fitness, keeping Lindergard on the bench at least until we see how well Ben copes over the next month or so.
Not a bad position to be in really, as having 2 keepers with the experience and ability of Bo and Ben at one club is a luxury most clubs dont have.
Cheers,
Kookiebags.

Myhill for me he has done enough to keep his place. Fossy is a no.1 keeper, but so is Boaz who has admittedly made the odd mistake, but so does any keeper.

Foster gets my vote 100% although he definitely shouldn't walk straight back into the first team as Myhill has been much better than I was expecting.

The main thing that lets Foster down is his distribution but I'm not sure if that has been more down to his injury problems as I remember him kicking with his right foot for some time instead of his left.

Personally Foster has been my favourite keeper since the PIG.

Although you could make a fair argument that Myhill is the best back-up keeper in the league outside of the top clubs, I'm really not fond of the tendency he has to not properly command his box (at least not consistently). He's not as bad with it as Carson used to be, but when you look at the Stoke equaliser last week and the Spurs goal in December, plus one or two others through the season, we do seem to get these mishaps and mix-ups more than we should.

That said, the idea of Foster being back in for the Villa game just made me evacuate from both ends at once, so there's that.

If it's not broke don't fix it.

Boaz although at times at the start of the season I was wondering if he was ever going to dive for a shot as we kept conceding tricklers... it would be unfair for him to be dropped straight away. And more so if Fozzie comes in and has a clanger, what do you do, drop him straight away and put Boaz back in, what would that do to Bens morale.

I think for now play Boaz. Don't upset the apple cart. 2 wins, attacking football, pretty solid at the back, Crack on!

I can't see Foster being the type to be petulant either, I'm sure he will be more than understanding regarding the position.

Although with keepers, does being the No.1 ranked keeper at the club qualify you to jump straight back in?
