Like Ska'd I had a bad feeling about this one also. We always seem to ***k up against the teams around us. As a result I disappeared to the studio for singing practice between 3-6 and there's no phone signal down there. Usually this ploy of hiding away till the end works but I suspected it wouldn't yesterday and I was right:-( On the plus side however, my vocals are getting better lol! Didn't we lose to this lot in a cup round recently as well when they were championship and we were supposedly prem. Thats why I saw it happening again:-(

I can't really agree that "the sending off made little difference". I'd suggest that playing 65 minutes with a man down makes a big difference in a game. Especially when Bournemouth are the team who have covered the most miles in the league.

There's no doubt they were on top XI on XI in terms of possession but they didn't create anything. Even with an extra man for 65 minutes, it took the ref putting the chance on a plate for them. I can only speculate, but with 11 men, I think we'd have had more of a dominant spell and I don't think we would've conceded. The fact Gosling was allowed even to run at the box was down to tiredness.

Looking again on MOTD, Rondon's sending off was justified. But still feel Dean made fatal mistakes, which cost us. XI on XI for 90 minutes and you've got a completely different game.

Good posts Slick, IMO nicely balanced  Thumb up Thumb up

Hoping that the 3 games that McClean is out for is enough for someone else to make a solid claim to keep him out of the team. Have just watched our MOTD highlights and I'm even angrier at his challenge than when seeing it live.

All of his recent work is completely undone and I have absolutely no respect for someone who puts in a potential career ending tackle like that... If you wanted retribution James, you could have kept yourself on the field, fought with the team to win the game instead of trying to break someone's leg you absolute prick! Grrrr!

I'm surprised so far that no-one else has mentioned how poor Morrison was. Obviously he very rarely has poor games for us so he definitely deserves to be cut some slack, but it was by far the worst I've seen from him in an Albion shirt.

Tibby, was not there but ...... Web site states five of our players arrived Saturday morning having been sick all night, team spirit after recent games they wanted to play, Jimbo was one of them, fair play for wanting to fight for the club, but illness my be the cause of the slow start and below par performances of some ........

Ah I didn't know that! Definitely explains him and some of the other lads having an off day if they were sick all the night.

Only a slight crumb of comfort though. We need to see a lot better against Newcastle up next at home!

Still can't believe how close we were to actually winning that game after seeing the highlights just now. If that Dawson chance goes in we'd have sat back and won the game from there quite comfortably.

Tibby, you could say that about the west ham, Tottenham and Liverpool games as well, that would be another nine points, appalling reffing against Everton and Leicester cost another six, that's fifteen points allowing for a possibly dubious three points against Sunderland. We could, no word of a lie be on 33 or 35 points. Top four territory.

It ain't pretty, it ain't entertaining a lot of the time but with a better rub of the green it could be our best premier season.

Don't like conspiracy theories, but, it happens to often and is to costly to be lady luck .... hash tag just saying

Is it just me but I was really proud of the lads on Saturday ?
After going down to 10 men I thought they all worked their wotsits off and limited Bournemouth to virtually no decent chances.
When we equalised it was nothing more than we deserved for a truly brilliant backs to the wall gritty fight.
We lost because of 2 things
McLean being an absolute bell end and the other bell end giving a penalty that was clearly outside the box.
I have been really impressed by McLean of late but he made 2 equally stupid lunges prior to the red card. The first deserved a yellow and the 2nd he got the ball. Had he not got the ball he would have gone earlier so to then do it again and deservedly get sent off. He let his fellow team mates and all the supporters down.
Funny how Mike dean refused to book any Bournemouth players until the 96th minute !
As for Rondon, yes I can see why it was a red but to be honest he should have really dropped the nut on that tosser.
Whilst I get the disappointment of a loss am I the only one who thought McLean aside we put in a really good show with 10 men ?

I don't think you are alone in that, Squirrel. McClean did indeed let the proverbial and literal side down. Albion need to set up to attack more, or get players in who can attack. As for referees, we have come to expect incompetence and decisions that ruin games instead of helping them run smoothly.

Yes, it's just you Squirrel.

How can you possibly be proud of McClean and Rondon for goodness sake !
How can you possibly be proud of circa 30% possession when playing AFC Bournemouth at home ?
Anyone who can be 'proud' of those two things alone needs locking up !

I sometimes despair.

Doh
