To all those who used to use bbc606, hi ya muckas, long time no speak...
No doubt Mr Pulis has been subject to many debates on here, well here's my take on things. I love football and i now have a 4 year old son who has started to play and take interest in the beautiful game, My main concern is, under Pulis .. well the games not so beautiful, there's no entertainment and quite frankly it's dull, Pulis for me could go,leave the Hawthorns and never return. On the other hand, we're probably going to stay in the Prem under him and this is massively important to me.... Why? well because its easier for me to get that blue and white blood well and truly into my boys veins. As i can't really afford to go to games as often as i'd like, it'd be to easy for him to start liking a UTD or City etc etc...
But as he gets older and starts to grasp what the game on the big green pitch is all about, i want and hope that he'll think like me.. Your team will always be your team regardless of what division they're in, your teams supporters will be like family, you wont always get along or agree on things but you'll always have that special bond that gives you a sense of belonging. BUT on the pitch we want our team to give their all, to give blood sweat and tears for the shirt AND to ENTERTAIN..
UNFORTUNATELY modern football is different to when i was a kid... in the 90's 2 managers with two different styles and in lower leagues saved the Albion from the brinks of no return... Ardiles and Sir Gary gave us the platform to become a top flight team, lets hope we stay one for a long long time BUT Please Albion, give your supporters something to cheer about, something to unite in, We'll ALWAYS be yours so Entertain us..

I agree 100% that Pulis' brand of football isn't exciting. However, what I find weird is that most fans failed to recognise that the brand of football under his predecessor was just as bad; but without the steel and organisation.
When Pepe Mel was fired, I wanted us to go for a Laudrup, Bielsa or Flores (Now at Watford) who I thought could keep us up playing a decent brand of football. Instead, JP opted for Alan Irvine, a manager who had never managed at this level and proved nothing in the lower level. A decision that to this day, hasn't been explained.
Make no mistake about it, Irvine's team was worse than this. We played against relegation threatened sides like Leicester and Hull and didn't have a single shot on goal. At home, the 2-0 loss to Newcastle was the worst performance I've seen in my life. To let a bog standard team like that dominate us was an absolute disgrace.
When JP made the decision to sack Irvine, we were in the doldrums and looked dead set to drop. Pulis was an obvious replacement because at that point we just needed points. Not only that, but for 2 years, the dressing room seemed a bit too 'powerful' to say the least.
To be fair to Pulis, he made us genuinely hard to beat and guided us to safety with ease. As well as that, the club doesn't appear to be a 'mess' like it was under Mel and Irvine, and for the latter part of Clarke's reign. It had started to feel like the players were controlling the club, this is no longer the case.
While I agree that Pulis' football is negative and sometimes not easy on the eye, but to be fair to him, there's been progress since he came in. Even when we lose at home, we give it a go. When Bournemouth beat us with an extra man for 65 minutes, we gave it a real go. Same when we lost to Leicester and Everton.
It's not pretty for the purist, but it's an improvement on what he inherited.
Unfortunately the negative football is commonplace in the league now. Mourinho has won the league mutliple times over with a 'defence first' mentality. Van Gaal is very similar and has been at a host of top clubs. Pulis just has the same mindset with a much lower budget... Same with Allardyce and the list goes on...
As long as there is ridiculous money at stake, the 'win first' mentality will remain.

Heavy me ode mucka ! Great to see ya back on the boards.
Apart from the odd one who throws a wobbly if you have a different opinion to his, they are a great set of lads - as I told you in my e-mail, even old Aries is on here who I meet up with pre-match for a pint from time to time so I'm delighted you took my advice and signed up!
The only thing wrong is the footy which is the worst I can remember in 20 odd years. Although I can afford my season ticket ok, I do feel so sorry for those who do have to struggle to find the cost and then have to watch the dross Pulis serves up.
Christmas Best wishes to Mrs Heavy and Heavy Junior not forgetting Heavy Doggie!
PS: Stu, if you'd like me to create a 'Baggie' avatar like mine or Aries for example, give me a shout and I'll e-mail you a selection

Welcome Heavy. Great to have you join us.
I too would love us to be an attacking exciting team. Others are doing it and so why can't we.
But having been so close to the drop last season and with this season being so financially critical for Premeir League teams and Sky money. I am sure the remit from JP to TP was under no circumstances get relegated.
Just maybe next season it will be different. If it's not then maybe we'll be chanting "Attack, Attack, Attack"

Don't know why the prat Pulis has reverted back to McAuley and Olsson in defence and shoved our best 7M
centre back in midfield and brought the useless tosser Craig Gardner back into the equation.
I just hope and pray that the club don't give the clown a new contract.
