Just to let you all know that I have terminal cancer and haven't got long left.

I will support Wednesday to the end and will be treating each match like it is my last (because it may well be).

One day soon, I will stop posting because I will be too unwell to post so this is my only opportunity to say goodbye properly.

So Goodbye. It's been a blast!

Madsteve. I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry to hear your terrible news. It puts all other worries (especially the Wednesday related ones) into perspective.

MS, a bit like Jacko, not quite sure what to say. Shocking and sad news.

This is truly saddening news and I'm sorry to hear it Madsteve.

Your insightful, grounded and statistic filled posts are an important part of our, and other groups from what I have seen.

The time you've given to said groups, especially now when time is so precious has and always will be appreciated.
I wish you the strength to see this campaign through with us all, one last time. I hope each day is as painless as can be for you.

Thoughts are with you and your loved ones, and though it isn't necessarily "Goodbye" today. It has been an honour and pleasure MadSteve.

Not what I was expecting to read when I opened this thread.

My thoughts are with you and your family and hope you can follow CC's mantra of one game at a time and that helps you keep going as long as possible.

Your match reports are better than anything we could read in the papers and we will continue to treasure them until the last.

I am a bit sore today as I had an exploratory operation yesterday but I have every intention of being at matches until further notice.

I might get chemotherapy to reduce pain & improve the quality of life but probably only for a few months but only if I am strong enough for the treatment.

If it is any consolation, when my grandad died in 1980, we got promotion under Big Jack. When my mum died in 1983, we got promotion under Sgt Wilko so if I snuff it this season then promotion is on the cards.

Maybe I can get Young Padawan to leave a message on here when I can no longer post.

Steve, that is truly dreadful news!! My thoughts go out to you and all your family. As others have said, we may not actually know any other posters personally but we possibly know more about each other than some of our other friends!! We are a family on here, albeit a small one, and news like this really brings home that fact.

Take care of your family during the time you have left and as Washington said take each game as it comes!! Hopefully CC and the boys can keep giving you good performances, goals and plenty of wins in the games you are able to attend!!
