THE LAST MATCH

Oh dear  Doh If that early chance for May had gone in this thread would be a lot more upbeat  Angry After that miss the rest of the match followed an entirely predictable script  Doh TBF, when I saw the makeshift defence I thought we were on a hiding to nothing. But, as I said, I think we would have won comfortably if May had buried that chance Undecided

Nuff said  Cool lets move on  Whistle

And if it wasn't for these inspirations

GET YER COAT DEAR  Angry

THE MATCH

Ipswich at home  Thumb up brings our favourite dingle to town  Whistle who will probably have SG tied up in knots and blown out of his shitter before HT in the tactical awareness battle  Doh

TUESDAY 30th SEPT - KO 19:45 BST

This lot are red hot at the moment and, with Irish Mick in charge, I'd take a point right now  Confused  I get the feeling that SG will play our rigid 4-4-2 and McCarthy will have them running rings round us in midfield  Doh once he's stopped laughing at our tactics  Doh

REF WATCH

We've been dealt another upcoming ref in the form of Darren Bond  Huh although I have no complaints about the last ref  Whistle who was hardly mentioned on Satdi  Thumb up Let's hope Mr Bond is just as anonymous  Thumb up

CURRENT FORM

Us -   Angry Undecided Big Grin  Big Grin  Angry  Angry
Them -    Angry Undecided   Big Grin  Big Grin  Big Grin  Big Grin

Last four head to heads at our gaff don't make pretty reading  Doh

1 - 1
1 - 1
0 - 1
0 - 0

STATTO CORNER

According to the Beeb reports, we have now had 128 attempts in League games of which 32 have been on target  Doh ie made the goalie work  Whistle a ratio of 1 in 4 hitting the target which doesn't seem that bad  Confused The problem is that over the last four games we have had 65 attempts and only been on target 10 times  Doh which is about 1 in 8.5  Angry Taking it further, there have only been 3 games in which I think our ratio of attempts to attempts on target are acceptable  Confused The ones highlighted  Thumb up

BHA 5-1
Derby 21-7
Millwall 10-2
Boro 12-5
Trees 15-7
Noblot 24-4  Huh
Brum 15-3
Reading 16-2  Huh
Taffys 10-1

And saying "well we won some of the games"" where our shooting was crap doesn't wash with me  Angry because our continued inability to hit the target will bite us on the arse more often than it won't  Angry

OTHER FIXTURES OF MILD INTEREST

Derby v Bournemouth
Middlesbrough v Blackpool
Millwall v Birmingham
Norwich v Charlton
Rotherham v Blackburn

ON TO THE TEAM

Please can Hutch, Lee and Lees be available  Thumb up or we are fucked  Doh Although SG did go 3-5-2 at one stage on Satdi  Thumb up just had the wrong personnel on the pitch to do it  Laugh

Why didn't he play Dielna at CB  Huh is he shit  Huh Just got to pray that Lees is fit, which shows how threadbare we are  Doh

I suspect it will be as you were  Doh with the NEW JJ coming on for the last half hour to knock some balls into the Kop  Laugh

I see me going to the pub did not have it's desired effect on the result on Saturday! Young un enjoyed his day out in Cardiff, even if we did not get the result he craved.

The team HAS to be

Westwood
Palmer Lees Loovens Mattock
Drenthe Hutchinson Semedo Helan
May Nuhiu

Maguire HAS to sit out now, it seems he has offered very little thus far this season and I think MS is right, he is very average but seems to have the big "I AM" attitude as if he thinks he's our version of Ronaldo or Messi or summat, he needs a reality check, he was in good scoring form last season but this season he has gotten too comfortable for my liking and has produced very, very little. I know some have moaned about Drenthe but he is a quality player once SG will give him the confidence to start games and then he'll show his quality, he ISN'T a sub, he needs to start games, he was an ever present for Real Madrid FFS for 2 seasons till immaturity in his attitude took over his talent. At 27 surely he will now want to show how good he is and if SG uses him right, puts his arm round him and shows belief in him...then he'll produce the goods, he's the kind of player who wants to feel wanted & he isn't a one man team either, a positive player yes but he has the ability to put in crosses too (judging by his early days). RD will be desperate to make a good impression. If he starts tomorrow night then it will be his big chance, he has made a few sub appearances and should be match fit by now.

No Thurny. It's when you deliberately go one above my prediction followed by the inevitable of Consilio going one below. That's what pisses me off.

Nice one Maddix! Thumb up

Definitely need 3pts from this so we can kick on and forget this past week. the players need it and so do we. I agree with Chez I think Maguire has shown in the last couple of games he's either fatigued or just not cutting it.
Hutchinson being back is a godsend, hopefully he can rally up a performance from the rest.

I'll go with 19,450

HAHDA B'pool up for surprise first win.

As the strikers have been struggling to find the back of the net we'll have some striker 'meggo's' up ( Even if used recently Wink )

Big D!
