Poor tactics second half cost us yesterday.Sat back on our lead and invited them to come at us.They werent very good but we handed it to them on a plate. It reminded me of the John Duncan days except Scotch Johnny's teams didn't leak goals like we do at the moment. Two mistakes by Tommy although mitigating circumstances on a skiddy surface he should have done better though.
Deano's on 40 % win rate which is not too shabby and not enough to get him sacked although the football is boring and it wont be long before the knives are sharpening if he doesn't win frequently.
I think my problem is that I felt spoiled under PC and when we lost under Cook it was always trying to play the right way, unfortunately Saunders hasn't got an identity with his football and makes defeats harder to tolerate.

Five home defeats in a row doesn't suggest you've been spoiled Pooch, it suggests there is something very wrong with the way we play.

I suspected Deano was planning Wood at Centre Back with Evatt. I wonder how Raglan and Hird feel about that one. At the same time we wasted the chance to try out a different keeper at FC United and got two Tommy errors a few days later. Funny old world innit.

Comment of the week from Dagenham's manager ..... he said Joss Labadie has "really got the bit between his teeth". That following his return from a six-month ban for what? Oh yes his second offence of biting an opponent. Probably the bit is a good idea then.

Dire stuff on Sat. Conditions were crap but we just didn't turn up. IMO only Jones showed any effort. The pairing of Wood and Evatt looked slow and vunerable. Both Lee's and Morsy's worst games I have witnessed. Tommy looked lost - not coming out for balls and far too hesitant. We just sat too deep and invited them on, no competition in midfield resulted in them having about 70% possession second half. Its like my old school reports - Not good enough, must do better.

When your 1-0 up you should never sit back and try and defend a lead you should look for a 2nd or even a 3rd to put the game to bed. The football isn't that great maybe because we were spoiled under Cook and we are resorting to hoofball now. I don't think people would be too bothered about the poor results at home only if the performances were up to scratch. A win or two could change the league table entirely so there is no need to start panicking just yet but I think if we start to fall around 17th/18th then that is the time when we need to be wary.

Realistically can any of you see Saunders being the manager by the end of the summer or this time next year?

Your centre back pairing has to be two different kinds of player - at least slightly. You don't want two Mertesackers. My hope was Wood was cover for Evatt - he never sounded like a partner.

When you don't trust your centre back pairing no goalkeeper can perform.

Matt, we don't play hoofball under Saunders, that's a myth. On Sat we just didnt play any kind of ball. Shit happens now and then. The secret is get over it quickly and move on. Our away record is very good this season and am sure DS barring a miraculous melt down, will still be with us next year.
If anybodies expectations this year were as high or better than last seasons - they are deluded. If we do make the playoffs then great but for me it will be a big bonus.

Dancing, I thought the worry was about the other end of the table entirely from the play-offs.

We do have a good away record, but our home record says going down very loudly.

Against FC United we were described as "slick" in a national newspaper ..... but Gainsborough won there last week.

I'd be with Matt in thinking it is fairly unlikely Deano will even start next season. As for finishing next season it is statistically very unlikely - not many managers do two full seasons now without a cup or a promotion.

Poor performances = poor results = attendances drop = less money coming into the club

Whilst he is on 40% strike rate it would be hard to sack him and I don't believe for one minute we will continue winning away whilst losing at home .
