New format for the competition to be introduced from next season apparently.

I feel a bit ripped off as apart from the bonus points that's pretty much exactly the format I suggested on New 606 when league restructure was first on the cards, although for me it was to go hand in hand with a reduced number of league games.

What a load of pish,so you draw get a point then get another point if you win the shoot out,so a team who win get 3 points but one team are going to get an extra point for drawing because they get a penalties, utter nonsense as per usual.

It's all a bit marketing and re-branding as far as I'm concerned, and as all marketers are prone to do, they miss the point entirely.

Starting the season a couple of weeks early with competitive games makes sense especially for those teams who have European qualifiers, but then they go and exclude them from the early rounds of the competition? F*cking daft. And to call it - as many are trying to - 'Summer Football' is a disgrace, and misses the point completely. It's an early start, no more and no less.

The 'Winter Break' is just two weeks off at a time of year when the pitches and weather could be just fine. It's not a winter f*cking break at all. If you want to have a winter break, then give us summer football - proper summer football. You can have all winter off then.

The penalty shoot-out extra point feels like an after-thought, decided as the meeting was running down and one more marketing option was needed, and that was the least f*cking daft one they had lying around.

Oh, and signing a 4-year TV deal with BT shows an incredible short-term outlook - unless of course they don't expect this new radical shake-up to work well at all, which I suspect is their safety net.

Have they explained the breakdown of this £2M per season yet? How much will be left for everyone to scrabble over once Celtic get their mitts on the majority?

For once, just once, I'd like Stewart Milne to come out and explain why - WHY - why he voted alongside Celtic to keep the voting structure at 11-1 for important matters like this, when instead he had the chance to blow the Old Firm's financial stranglehold out of the water forever.

It's good to see two of the wee teams get a chance at to win a cup.

Think they'll move the final to a smaller stadium to match the tiny home support the 2 clubs have?
