League Cup semi-final draw - it's Saint Johnstone!!
#1
Well, we avoided Celtic but didn't draw the preferred choice, Ross county. Will history/the 2007 LC success repeat itself when we defeated the Saints in the semi-final at Tynecastle? Also will this semi-final tie be played at Tynecastle? I rate this Saint Johnstone side and this game will not be an easy one for Hibs. However, we are playing well and they have not played us for quite a while since our relegation - that could bode well for us! It's a one off cup tie and Hibs will definitely have the bulk of the available match tickets for this match. Here's hoping for another win although there will be a long period of waiting before we play this semi-final on 30/31 Jan 2016.

Just been speaking about the venue 0762,surely Hibs will be wanting a big support then it would have to go to Hampden, the other question is the league cup an SPFL trophy or and SFA trophy?? if it's SPL both teams could demand it played at Tynie if desired, because we all know the SFA say there semis and final are played at the national stadium.

Aye 0762 we avoided Griffiths and his manky lot. St Johnstone will do me and like you feel it may be played at Tynecastle.

We will end up with a hampden midday game. Which just kills the atmosphere and makes it a pain in the arse traffic wise.

I think we have a reasonable chance of making the final if we play to our best.

I'd prefer the smaller stadium with a cracking full house atmosphere Fredster! Hibs LC tie at ER v The Dons drew 11,000 fans and the QF match v Dundee Utd also drew a similar attendance. So Tynecastle, with it's 17,420 full capacity, would prob just cover that demand + Saint Johnstone's 3k-4k fans and remember it's a semi-final match and not the more interesting final itself. And yes, the Scottish Cup is an SFA trophy, the League Cup is not.

Yep! Got it in one hibeejim! No travelling to Glasgow and no rushing about to get organised, have a few beers etc. I hope we're assigned the Saturday fixture with hopefully a 3.00pm KO but suspect it'll be a tv deal with a lunch time start.
