Thanks for your post, Trus, despite the passage of time it is good to have such memories.
In my case it has always been on my own with football games, my father had no time for professional football.
The nearest I have come to your type of experience, going to the football with family, was with Gillingham, going to their Boxing Day matches with my uncle, grandad and cousin. That was when I went to spend Christmas with uncle, aunt and cousins. Other members of the family would visit the house over Christmas, but it was us guys who escaped for a few hours to see the footie !
