So finally we get back to regular football after the International break. Thumb up This game sees the second time this season we have faced one of the three relegated teams from the Prem, the first ending in defeat at Burnley and the third one coming up later this month at QPR.  I think its fair to say that most of us thought Hull would be in the mix come the end fo the season but they have lost some key players with  their drop to the Championship, but obviously still have plenty of money to replace them.

Steve Bruce kept his job even though they were relegated and I for one am glad to see a club recognize the achievements he has with them and the fact that they were unlikely to find anyone better to replace him anyway.  I can never forgive Bruce for the last minute goals at Old Trafford back in his playing days but I do think he is a good manager.

This will be the 48th meeting between the teams and our record stands at a good W20, D16, L11 over the previous 47 games.  We do have a very good home record against them of W14 D6 L4, with their first win at S6 coming as late as 1979.  Our last 5 home games against them though have seen them win 3 times, so its time we got back to normal against them by winning this one!!!  Incidently we have never played Hull in the top flight before, so to me its a good thing they got relegated as we would never get promoted while they are up there!! Whistle

THE LAST MATCH

A steady performance against Preston that gave us our third league win on the trot.  In the end if was less comfortable than it should have been considering the chances we had but we still held on and ran out 3-1 winners.  Good to see the goals again being spread around the team, we don't have that 20 goal striker but we may end up with a bunch of players who get over 10 goals each!!  Here is the video of that win:

FUNNY COMMENT FROM LAST MATCH THREAD

A post by Maddix gets top billing this week:

Washington posted - "Its not meant to be intensely watched - its just stuff going on in the background while you chat with your buddies, drink very overpriced beer and stuff yourself with hot dogs, pretzels, nachos and garlic fries !!!"

Maddix replied:

"A bit like watching 'Debbie does Dallas' with your mates then  Cool or ODI's"  Big Grin

OUR TEAM

Not sure we will see any changes to the team, everyone should be rested and CC won't mess too much to a winning team.  May seem harsh on some of the squad players but the shirsts are currently owned by a starting 11 that is doing well, if and when the others get their chances they have to perform very well to grab the starting shirt.

The following is my prediction for the opening line-up:

Westwood

Hunt  Turner  Lees  Pudil

Lee  Hutchinson

Wallace  Forestieri  Bannan

Nuhiu

WHO'S THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK

Ref - KEITH STROUD
Assts - Philip Dermott and Andrew Hendley
Fourth Official - Darren Handley

MS will hopefully give us the skinny on this guy in previous Owls games!!

Christ, I'd typed out a post and get "This page cannot be displayed" Happens a lot to me on this website, especially if I try to upload a pic.

Anyway, nice one SCO!

I can't see a win here but we might scrape a draw.

It's worth a mention SCO. Just in case other users are experiencing a similar issue. If it's just me then I'll figure it out Smile

I was sweating it for a minute there, I was all excited at being first. Then when my initial post didn't work out I saw Maddix looming and figured I'd lost first dibs Laugh

And one of these days my 6-1 Nuhiu will come true  Thumb up but Owlkev will probably nip in first when it does  Doh

Here is a picture i borrowed from Owlstalk of the new advertising on the back of the Kop.

[Image: post-5897-0-03599200-1444837548_thumb.jpeg]

I am ok with that as long as the club is being well paid for it and it still includes the logo as prominently as it was before.

Can't say I spend much time looking at the back of the Kop! I assume we are being well paid for the privilege of advertising on The Old Lady.

1 - 1 Forestieri

Looking forward to the game after a blank weekend. Not looking forward to the dinner time kick off. Ruins the day, not sure what to do before or after. I know there's the pub for those who enjoy that kind of thing but my drinking days are behind me.
You know nothing, Jacko
