Suckered on two breaks, Halliday isn't dropping in the hole when tav and waldo break. They have come to sit in and fair play to them they deserve the lead. We seem to be trying to go through the middle far too much.

Just a couple of bits of slack defending, and we pay the price. Need to up the tempo, our passing hasn't been zippy enough.

Next goal is important. Would be surprised if we play as poorly in the second half.

Well, there you have it. Once again a simple ball through the middle concedes a goal.

0-3 O'Halloran, and how about giving the opposition a wee bit of credit eh!!! McLean even missed an open goal! I couldn't believe the wonderful odds of 5-1 against St J qualifying for the next round - well worth a £10 bet against a Championship playing Rangers side that was never that good! The sheer pace of O'Halloran through the middle of Gers defence for that 3rd goal said it all!! Doh  The reality check has arrived big-time at Ibrox!

Saint Johnstone have never won an away match this season and they certainly broke their duck at Ibrox in an impressive 1st half away display v Championship opposition and they took full advantage of Rangers stuttering defence!! Any team that has an impressive 3 goal advantage generally plays to hold that solid advantage and that's exactly what they did. That was a good, competent pro job done on Rangers and great to see Warburton's puss finally brought down to earth by a team playing a high tempo in your face game plan from start to finish. As commented previously, give the opposition a wee bit of credit eh! The Lappin goal/shot was also a cracker!

Lessons to be learnt from this, but ultimately the league is our priority unbeaten there, lets see them go again Sunday.

Schoolboy defending for the third, pretty much killed the game. Picked up after Tavernier's goal without ever really threatening.

Still, it was an interesting evening. We'll learn from it, and we'll have a better idea of which areas - both in terms of player and playing style - need strengthening going forward.
