A big 3 points which puts us up to 10th and sends Villa down to 17th.

Well done to Saido for his goal and his attitude today. More of that and his recent actions will be put to one side.

Same formation and starting 11 (except McManaman in for McLean) against Everton next week please Tony. Playing with 1 striker is much better for us and I hope you now see that.

YES. The performance we've been crying out for, and the result we deserved from it. And sweet, sweet revenge!

Still a little room for improvement, but if we can use this as a springboard to move forward and not slide back into bad habits, we'll be looking good. The next six weeks are a big opportunity for us to get points on the board before a tough pre-Christmas run. Well done to Tony and the players; a bit of confidence has been restored, and done in the best way possible Big Grin

Delighted with the 3 points.

Some decent performances today. Brunt MOTM for me for his defending and outballs from the back. Everyone defended well and Fletcher performed more like the level that he was at last season when he joined, which was a big plus.

We still need to be able to break with more quality. I still fail to see the point in James McClean who can't do anything apart from cover the ground. Tony finally saw the light and dropped Gardner, so hopefully he can do the same with McClean and we might actually be able to play a bit more football.

Villa looked dreadful and on that evidence, could be serious relegation candidates this season. Never really looked like troubling us at the back.

I really think we'll turn up for this game and do ourselves justice; there are enough of our players who have been here long enough to know that the team owes the supporters nothing less than 100% effort - for a change - in this one.

I realise that we still have to be set up right to win it, but I don't think our defence will be as ponderous and as lacking as it was last year. I imagine we'll still sit pretty deep, as they still have got more pace in their attack than we have in our defence, but I believe we'll cope better this year.

Amazing stats these,
This is why we WILL win on Saturday,.......

For the third successive season, Albion have five points from the first five games. If you’re in to omens, in the last two seasons, our sixth game has produced a victory, 4-0 against Burnley last year and 2-1 at Old Trafford the season before, which bodes well with a trip to Villa Park up next.

In fact, Albion have never lost their sixth game of a Premier League season, winning five and drawing four, including not only the win at Old Trafford but also the win at the Emirates in 2010. Albion have also faced a trip to Villa Park for game 6, a match which finished 1-1 in 2012 when Darren Bent’s last equaliser cancelled out Shane Long’s opener.

So there you have it ...................
