Rangers v Hibs - 23/08/15

Whilst it is very disappointing that we didn`t get something from the game we should be happy that we competed in all areas of the park and it took a super-or fluke strike to beat us. Over the piece I thought we created the better chances and it shows that Hibs need a proven striker/goal scorer.
Lets not get away from the fact that most of our first team have only played a few games together and will get better as time goes on when they gel together.
Really good potential being shown the future looks bright-or Hibernian green and white.

Ok Wattie but Sevco players have also only played a few games together and seem to be gelling just a wee bit better than Hibs atm

I dispute our players have played a few games together. Doh     For the likes of McGinn, Henderson, Dylan ( at right back !), Carmichael, Boyle, with a new squad after injury etc it was either their first or second PART of a game. Sevco have had a much more settled preseason and the side they put out on Sunday was almost exactly that which beat us some weeks ago at ER. So its no wonder, EK, they are a little further along which is what Wattie was highlighting to.   Wink I have been to a number of games this season and had not seen those named players in the same starting 11 or on the pitch at all! Add to that all our new signings in the Summer have yet to play let alone play and gel together through injuries etc.

Unfortunately the only settled part was the defense and we all know my views on them especially when we lose our only settled right back and have to put a midfielder in there for 25 minutes  Doh   .....could have been worse.....AS could have switched Stevenson over there as Butcher used to do.   Sick

No experience Fred especially in that cauldron.

Speaking of experience we have just signed Darren McGregor on a two year deal.....a defender at last

So Stubbs pontificating that Rangers were in the same place as Hibs last season, suddenly becomes Rangers are better prepared now? Surely you have the more settled Squad no?

Bearing in mind Stubbs thought this was the key to Hibs winning the league.

Stubbs has once again made an arse of the start of our season cooper, lessons should have been learned. Once again we are having to play catch up because of poor preparation on and off the field.

On the other hand i think he is a good coach and we are a better footballing side to watch than under butcher (who's teams were torture) and he deserves a bit of encouragement and support.

Exeter,
When I wrote that most of our team have only played a few games together I meant that the NEW players had not got the same experience of playing together as the players we carried forward to this season but I take your point.
If only we had somebody who could find the net we`d be in a much better position and this has been our downfall for at least a season. Creating 3 or 4 clear cut chances in a game is what most managers dream of and Hibs do it regularly but fail to convert the biggest majority of them. Alan Stubbs has to concentrate on this urgently or we`re going to find ourselves in the same position as last year.
On a lighter note I see that we have signed Daren McGregor on a 2 year deal, that seems to be a good signing for us hope we see more coming in.

mcgeough has played RB before, for hibs and celtic. It wasn't that unusual a move.
