Does Sherwood not need to just swallow his pride and play Hutton then?

MW obviously doesnt see what he is looking for, so fair enough to me. He doesnt seem to have been a bad judge so far, and as Trus says he way just the best of a pretty mediocre bunch last year, and possibly on a fairly high wage t'boot. His idea is to have every player in the squad playing their part, and I like that idea. I see no point in paying out good money just in case

Wise up folks, the reason McGregor is away is a cost cutting exercise, pretty obvious really. Outstanding player last season, mind you in a mediocre Rangers team but still best player by a mile, now frozen out due to cost. Temps and Shiells will be next allowed to leave as their wages are not affordable, as can be seen by the fact that the majority of signings this season are loan deals.

I think it is a question of tactics rather than pride, Trus, as much for Mark Warburton prefering Tavernier to McGregor at right back for Rangers as Tim Sherwood preferring Bacuna to Hutton at right back for Aston Villa. There is more logic to MW's choice at Rangers than TS's at Aston Villa, but that is what Managers are for, to make decisions on team selection, formations and tactics. The ongoing debates about these managerial decisions is probably the nearest thing to perpetual motion !

Off topic but...I can't stand Sherwood:
Team loses its player's fault. Team wins it's manager to thank. Guy's a dick. IMHO of course.

Staying off-topic, the main concern I have seen posted regarding Tim Sherwood is his ability (or lack of) regarding team tactics and substitutions.
The jury is out, so to speak. Nevertheless that is nothing unique to TS of course and comparing him to Paul Lambert, the difference in results is stark. This comparison is similar to comparing Mark Warburton's judgements to those of Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall (but not Stuart McCall), even though Ally and Kenny managed to win most of their games (unlike Lambert !!!).

Darren McGregor signs for his boyhood heroes Hibs on a two-year contract. Nice to see him find a club, and good to see he didn't sign for our closest title rivals after all.

I've a great picture of McGregor with my son and his MOM champagne after Hearts game at Easter.
Unfortunately I think he'll do quite well there and I'd rather he'd signed for someone else. |
