Why, when the Owls have all these strikers, do they persistently have a record of being unable to score goals?

May would do well at our level, but then he should be doing well for the Owls. What do they do to these people? Or are they fatally attracted to nearly men?

I'm not so sure we need a striker. We do have several. Midfield and defence look more pressing to me. If we keep having 20 goes on goal each game we'll score some.

Weds say May is not going anywhere on loan - so watch this space.

We need another striker, 2 midfielders and a RB and possibly cover for LB. Problem is though Championship players won't want to come to Chesterfield for low wages.

Glad your not in control of our budgets Matt. Why would we need a RB and LB when we have them already. Do you honestly think Championship players will come and sit on our bench waiting for a start? Also where are you going to put your striker and 2 midfielders or are we going to play with 15 men?
We "need" 1 in the short term and that's a replacement for Banks.

As I never tire of saying Orient proved the Championship wasn't necessarily the best recruiting ground. We need to have at least 18 players who are capable of doing a job in Division One come Saturday each week. We are teetering on the edge of that at the moment and there are questions marks over the ability of several of those outside the best eleven to really mount a serious challenge for places. So we do need to recruit, BUT I would rather have players who want to take a step up, rather than use us as a safety net on their way down.

There are always players who are as good as any we've got in need of a new club. It's choosing the right ones at the right price and/or wage ..... and getting them back on track.

Last season our problem with scoring goals wasn't just the quality of the strikers!!  Under SG we played negative, boring football that saw our strikers tracking back or having to move into midfield to get the ball.  Add to that our lack of any flexibility in formation and that we played with no recognized wingers (Lavery and May both played as wingers by SG!! Doh ) its no wonder our scoring record was poor last season!!

I do think May and Lavery have the ability to play in the Championship and they certainly have youth on their side but their confidence must be low due to the way SG played them and the team as a whole.  It seems that our new head coach will be playing either 433 or 451 with realistically only one place for an out and out striker and currently Nuhiu and Joao are ahead of both of these guys in the packing order and when Bus comes back from injury may drop even further.  They need to go out on loan, get their confidence back by scoring goals and prove they have a future with us.

We need a RB cover for Drew if he gets injured again. Could do with extra cover at LB even though Humphreys can play at LB. Need a midfielder in the centre to link up with Morsy and I think we need a Left sided midfielder to replace Roberts and a striker to link up with SEB. The problem is we've got too many strikers certain ones who I don't think are good enough but that's a matter of opinion.

I agree with Dancing there does seem to be one glaring weakness at the moment and that seems to be Ollie as the centre midfield partner to Sami
News is coming through of a possible signing before the weekend,Could be a striker.
