Nice. We should meet up sometime for a drink to watch the Albion when they're on Sky or BT.
With you there, Josh.

Oh well, I suppose that was to be expected, but I was hoping City wouldn't be quite so sharp.

We played against a quality city side, competed better second half, but could have been slaughtered, hope for better next week. Listening on the radio, felt ref was harsh with yellows, we got four they only got one although Yacob could, maybe should have seen red.

That 1st half was as bad as it gets. Every one of them was frightened of challenging. It's fair enough to keep 11 men on the pitch, but if you do that in every match you'll be relegated by February.

Teams will lose by more than 3 goals to City this season, but I hope Pulis learns lessons from this. We should never be lining up 442 against top 6 sides and if we sit back that deep and don't even try to close them down when they are on the edge of our area then we will get punished.
We need a good performance against Watford on Saturday. Lambert and Saido looked good, along with Rondon we have more than enough firepower to stay up - we just need more quality in the midfield. Hopefully Gnabry and at least one more can provide that.

I'm sure the negatives will be covered so I'll try and look on the bright side.
Saido played quite well all things considered and he seemed to put a real effort in and his heart was in it which is a relief given the speculation. I'd forgot how good he was. Love the man, I'm young so I haven't seen anyone good from our academy.
Yacob was a guaranteed starter last season and I'm sure he'll come back into the team and our midfield will improve as we saw in the second half today.
Most players will improve as the season goes on.
Gnabry will surely take Gardner's place and we'll have a threat on the wing.
We don't have to play Man City every week and most games will be easier.
There's more signings to come.
We've got Salomon Rondon.

Drastically missed McAuley. Dawson remains nowhere near a Prem class, he's too slow, no timing. We also look piss poor defending set plays without big Gaz.
The midfield is where we really need work. McLean was even worse than I remember at Sunderland and he was gash then. My feelings about Gardner remain as they were last season, apart from the odd decent pot shot, he's nowhere near Prem class. Just doesn't pass the ball well enough, doesn't move into space, isn't even athletic.
We really need someone in the middle who can actually get about the opposition a bit more and pass the ball with a modicum of accuracy. Fletcher and Mozza are 'okay' but out of the huge number of central midfielders at the club, there's not a genuine classy option between them. We looked better when Yacob came on, but really could do with upgrading him to a stopper with a bit more athleticism and professionalism.
On the plus side, thought Saido looked fast and sharp, made some good runs and was unfortunate with the offside goal. In Lambert we have a player who actually holds the ball up properly, keeps it and lays it off accurately 9 times out of 10. McManaman remains a really good impact sub and think he could win us some points if we throw him on in games which are actually close.
Lots of work to be done, but in part, we've only got ourselves to blame having shelled out money for dross like McLean and not replacing the likes of Gardner.
