What a shambles! Angry

I didn't go today, after suffering last season, but this sounded worse today!

Team selection seemed ok today on paper, with the exception of Hogg, but same old shite defending! The 'good' defending lasted 1 game FFS! Angry

Very concerned over of our future in this division now and this to some degree has to be lobbied at Dean Hoyle! Failed to get rid of Robins when we could see this was coming from the beginning of this year and bringing in another uninspiring, garbage appointment in Powell!

Even Kieran O'Regan was laying into them today even more than usual and suggested that the club refunds the tickets! If so, I want mine back from last season! Angry

Lessons learned from today:
- Joel Lynch is either not good enough for this level or, worse, that he is not putting in the effort. Truth is probably a smattering of both. At fault for the first two goals, complaining of being fouled for the second when he just got completely done over. Smithies stopped it from being a true humiliation.

-We need Hammill and Vaughan back in either capacity the minute they are fit. No creativity, no desire to get men forward and the fact that our best chance of the game came when we were 3-0 down and they had ten men only for stead to fire over hopelessly says it all.

-Defensively, bar the individual errors I still think we can be solid if Powell is given more time to work with them. Wallace or gerrard for me has to play alongside Hudson when fit.

-We NEED a striker on loan. Someone who can hold it up and support wells. People can say he was poor and he was, but he is not the type of player to barge defenders off the ball and put himself about.

- Bunn was the only bright point in this match and has to be one of the first names on the team sheet played as a winger or a striker. Looked like the only player who looked capable of causing them any problems today and lets face it, they are an abysmal team which we should be embarrassed to lose 3-0 by.

Noisy neighbours a little too loud for you guys today I guess, was hoping for you to really keep them quiet for us in the South of Yorkshire, but nevermind, you will come good, and the Weeds are garbage anyway

Wish I'd never gone today to see this passionless and embarrassing performance against our bitter rivals.  Angry  Last two visits have yielded F--- all points, 1 goal scored and 8 conceded and a couple of awful performances, where only Bunn and Smithies came out of it with an credit, even though he should never have been beaten at his near post.  Blush

It's still early days for Powell, but one point from the nine at stake should leave him in no doubt what needs to done, and lets hope Hoyle makes funds available to bring in at least three new players of Championship quality, otherwise we are already doomed with only 5 points from the first 24 contested.

Too many players today appeared uninterested and lacked desire, which should never be the case in a local derby against your fiercest rivals in front of around 29000 fans, and as for Lynch, he's a donkey  Dodgy  if I ever saw one.  And worse still, we could have been 4-0 down even when Leeds went down to ten men, but when you have too many players on "easy street" what do you expect.  Maybe we should have brought Warnock in because I'm sure he would have already sorted out the slackers and told them some home truth's.

There was still no support again for Wells, all alone up front against a couple of uncompromising Leeds defenders and at times, he looked anything but a Championship quality player, along with most of the other under performers.

So now all I have to look forward to is another night of grief from my Leeds Supporting sister in law, who will be as high as kite after our latest shambolic performance and who am I to argue with her, when she will no doubt tell me we are now relegation certainties after only eight games?  Sad

So Deano, for f----s sake dig deep into your pockets and make some brass available to bring in at least three Championship quality players with plenty of passion, Character and commitment, to replace the many "dead leg, easy streeters" we currently appear to have on our books.  Angry

Well that's my rant over, now I can go and drown my sorrows with a bottle of McGuigan's Black Label Merlot, until I wake up in the morning and reality sets in again, when I read the depressing match report and study the league table yet again  Sad

Another 'Elland Road embarrassment' for the fans to endure, the club need to get a grip and fast or we are going to meekly surrender our place in this league. Sign a striker ffs, this has been an issue for nigh on a year now and the clubs inertia over it is starting to come back and bite them on the arse. The club need to face upto the reality of life in this league, there is too much self congratulating and back slapping instead of focusing on taking the club forward.

As for the game, we didn't play too bad in the first half and the first 20 minutes of the second half we were on top. The thing with Town is though, we are mentally and physically weak, numerous times we were easily brushed off the ball and collapse mentally at the drop a hat. We couldn't even hold out at 1-0 till half time, switching off and giving a calamitous goal.

First goal, Lynch has a clearance charged down, falls luckily to Austin who drills it home, most people will be pointing the fingers at Lynch for this goal but Smithies, get a grip mate, there is no way should have been beaten by that on your near post and the rest of the defence stood around watching Austin. Second, caught in possession in midfield, and again to be fair to Lynch he could have a good argument to say he was fouled but he goes down leaving the Leeds player with a clear run on goal, chips it onto he bar and the rebound is drilled home emphatically, if this had had been at the other end we'd have blazed that over the bar. Third goal, more flimsy defending with Leeds first attack of the second half and its 3-0, after that we were finished.

We did have one or two good chances but Wells failed to make a decent connection with a great opportunity early in the second half, Bunn blazed wildly over in the first half when composure was needed and Stead blazed over when he it needed to slot it low but by then it was way way too late.

Bunn and Hudson were the only positives for me today. As for Robinson, if this guy is better than Dixon, I'll show my arse on the Town Hall steps. Wells, starting to worry about this lad, ok, he has had no service all season and today was no different but today fluffed a good chance at 2-0, looking short on confidence, needs a goal.

A true shocker of an afternoon in Beeston.
Town support was buoyant, noisy to start with sadly 2 empty blocks low tier to give the South Stand plenty of early ammunition to fire back in our directIon. I thought myself the set up (on paper) looked ok but what I didn't reckon for was how slow our build up play would be givings Weeds time to mass behind the ball and block any attempt we made. Then our midfield couldn't find a tackle to slow down their powerful and direct style putting pressure on Bet Lynch in particular who likes to fall over way too easy for a 14st international player and blame everyone else. come back Gerrard!
pelts was woeful, only once got forward in support of Scanz, B'Field got worse as the game went on his passing too, Hogg might be the fittest player we've ever had in bleep tests but can't do a lot else but run around looking busy, we left too much space between midfield n Wells who didn't have much of a game either so once Smithies failed to push Austin's shot over we were right up against it, the town support lost a few decibels and No 2 before HT was curtains. lots of possession 2nd but couldn't hurt them or dominate against 10 capped off with Steady blasting over on 82 mins by which time 50% of town fans had called it a day.
Listened to K'0R on the way back Powells limp straight talk went down like a lead balloon cos that was one gutless display lacking belief and desire. Bunn was superb and on perhaps 7-8 occasions beat 3 to get into the box but his shot or cross found no-one to capitalise. Scanz bright but poor end product.

big fan of what Deano has done for this club but I genuinely feel the board is too focused on spin bollox n we have lost a bit of reality management and players wise, there has to be a couple of loan signing up front n a serious long term partner for Hudson targeted to beef the spine.

grumpy as fk since I landed home that's what footy does to you when it doesn't go well, M1 crap blah blah.....

That my friends was utter garbage. No passion...no pride (Bunn excluded) and a total disgrace to those players who dared pull on a Town shirt. We lacked ideas, we lacked composure and we lacked bottle to get stuck in and at least give them a game. Nothing positive came out of those 90 odd minutes .....absolutely nothing.....and if we continue to play at that level even Fulham will beat us and we will be down quicker than Mrs Miggins bloomers in her pie shop cellar !

Get a grip - shows some balls - and play .....don't be scared of losing if you can hold your head up and say I did my best. If all you can offer is that amount of effort and passion then ask for a transfer - I am sure lots of non league clubs would love to sign you on at a tenth of the wage ! - you will even get your kit to take home and wash and you will be on personal terms with the odd 100 or so fans that turn up to watch you on the cow patch of a pitch you will play on.

Now is the time to look at yourself - put you hand down the front of your shorts and grab yourself by the testicles......that said the players out there yesterday would find it hard to grip anything at all ! - No spin....no BS....you were a disgrace and the buck stops with you are soon as you cross that white line.
