How the flying f*ck could  we have copied 'The Hearts Model' from last season three years ago??

Dr Emmet Brown is pointing and laughing at you. 'Cos you're a f*cking idiot.
If ye cannae grasp what he's saying then he's no' the f#cking idiot. The 'hearts model'fae last year should've been the 'Rangers model' fae 3 years ago. But rangers have still obviously learnt f#ck all. A reported 8 grand a week for decidedly average players in the Scottish championship, madness. Is Miller still on 25 k?
Yer wasting yer breathe Paignton,he only sees red, white and blue.

Oh I grasp what he's saying all right. He's trying to make out that Hearts 'invented' this system when the simple truth is that it's a model that has been around since at least the seventies, used by many many teams all around the world since. Hearts didn't invent it, nor even improve it. They weren't trail-blazing pioneers for using it. They didn't even choose to use it, they were forced into using it due to unfortunate circumstances. Fair enough it worked well for them.

No one knows whether a similar outlook would have worked for Rangers at the time or not. Indeed, the 'Buy known former players' method might have worked for Rangers if those same players and management hadn't fallen apart so dramatically last season. Point is, nobody knows.

And tell me, where exactly has this '8 grand a week' figure come from? Show me where it has been reported. Not rumoured - reported. Nothing of the sort has been confirmed by the club.

Similarly, your 25k figure for Miller also seems to be a figment of a fevered imagination, having no solid basis in reality at all. Looks like someone is reading and believing the utter nonsense posted on some twisted 'blog by a slevering, polynymous, mentally-ill failed journalist. Or something. Mind and click his handily-placed 'Donate' button, there's a good bhoy. Wink
New signing, initially as Academy, then upped to the first team squad.

Rangers are delighted to announce the signing of central-midfielder Jordan Thompson on a two-year deal.
The 18-year-old from Northern Ireland has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at Ibrox until at least 2017.

I'm no' a bhoy, I've got the same level o' dislike for the green half o' the bigot brothers as I have for the blue half

couple o' sites you can look at trus. or read what kevin kyle had tae say. ian black 12 grand a week , miller 15, boyd 30. knock 10 grand off boyds and its still too much. kevin kyle said the rangers players couldnae believe the amount o' money they were being offered. but as usual you'll probably find that millers ONLY on 14500 and use that tae vindicate yer arguement
So Miller has dropped to 15k a week now? Black was on 7k a week and Boyd was getting no more than a couple of grand a week.
Slavering at its best!

and just how is your information any mair informative than mine, but, even if your figures are right the wage level is still outrageous for the standard o' fitba' they're playing

got my info from tsmplay and sportrich list and kevin kyles interview. obviously the 2 sites vary but if you go somewhere in the middle shouldnae think it'll be too far away, according tae kyle players on 300-400 grand a year. oh, and a manager that was on 800 grand a year. now away and bury yer heid in the sand along wi' trus.
So you are talking shite as per, as for burying my head the club is in a far better position now than it was last season. Time will tell where we are. Now if only your fans matched your clubs ambitions, you might even be relevant!
Seriously. Do you ever see supporters of other clubs going on forums like this to complain about how much Hibs or Hearts or Aberdeen or Arbroath are paying any particular player? Or even caring?

I don't think there's a Rangers fan out there who thinks we've had good value out of our players in the past few years, but then that's universally true of some players at every professional club. We're finally going down a more affordable path that places more emphasis on developing our own youth, but again I don't think I've heard any Rangers fan complain about this, and indeed for the most part it's what we've wanted since before 2012 even.

To say Hearts is a model to follow is pretty dubious at the moment. Hearts were forced to depend heavily on youth players because of a crippling financial situation and a transfer ban, and that young squad got them relegated from the top flight. Last season they bought in a host of foreign players, some an improvement and some pretty average, in a manner reminiscent of Scottish football circa the late 90s and early 2000s, and have seen youth players released or leave because they were being squeezed out of the first team by the new players. That's not to say it's going to be an ongoing trend, but it might be. Their signings this summer will be a good indication of their future direction. But at the end of the day the advantage Hearts had was a good scouting system, or at least good knowledge of available players established by Craig Levein since he lost his job as Scotland manager.

It might also be that we go down that route again (of buying most of our first team), but at the moment it looks like we're building a squad for the long term, and rather than buying in experienced players to fill all the gaps we're bringing in younger guys for our development squad who we can shape.

I think we probably will spend money on players in time, but it's more likely to be for the odd talent who would be a standout rather than the norm.
