Summer Friendlies 2015

Thanks Matt, that was really interesting.

Roberts always was a very clever player. Good on the ball and could produce an incisive pass. That's a very difficult combination to replace.

I thought Ryan Edwards was supposed to be a defender ........ I've kinda been expecting us to sign a tackling midfielder.

Now we are well into July and only Ryan and Roberts have gone, losing any of Darikwa, Clucas and Morsy could become a big problem don't you think? (Hope we sign Orrell for the future, sounds like the sort of player we should invest in.)

Well if Darikwa leaves then we need another RB because Drew is injured again. I think if Morsy has a good start to the season then I think clubs will be after him in January and in the summer. If we lose Clucas then we could so with another midfielder even though Humphreys can play on the left side of midfield and probably O'Shea. I would sign the trialist keeper Alex Cairns as cover because Chapman is injured and I don't think Myles Wright is ready to be 2nd choice keeper just yet probably another season or two. Armand looks full of confidence lets hope he can take that into league. Orrell looks a really good player.

Also one of the trialists which played on Friday night was called Dion Donohue he wore the number 25 shirt and he looked a good player. He's played for Caernarfon Town and Sutton Coldfield. He's Welsh and he was at the Everton academy a few years ago.

I think we should incorporate Chapman is Injured into our logo.

So we sign Orrell and Donohue for the future. Try and grab a versatile midfielder to cover whatever happens in the transfer market.

Alex Cairns only worries me in that he was behind Paddy Kenny at Leeds. Even the net didn't like being behind Paddy Kenny.

I wonder if Saunders has let Ryan Edwards go after he played in a friendly for Gillingham yesterday. Edwards looked good but he didn't tackle much.

Maybe if we sign him Crossley can get him up to speed because I think we need another keeper who can keep Tommy on his toes. Remember last time Tommy got injured in L1? We had to have Fleming, Smith and Soderberg fill in for him and they lost us so many games. One game I will never forget was when we played Hartlepool near the start of the season and Fleming was in net and he came out too far at a set piece and a Hartlepool player headed the ball in from outside the area over Fleming and the back four.

Fleming wasnt great but Soderburg made him look like Dino Zoff .

Yeah he did. Fleming plays for Ayr United but Soderberg is back home in Sweden playing for a club over there.

I thought Richard O'Donnell was a good keeper to compete with Tommy but he didn't want to be 2nd choice keeper and he only signed a 1 year deal if I remember correctly.

To be fair Soderberg was only 8 when he played for us at Oldham.

Isn't it Olhanense from the Segunda Liga in Portugal? They were relegated from the Primeira last season or the one before it. It's not a big place, on the Algarve, and it's a small ground ......... should provide a decent friendly, don't know when their season starts .... too idle to wikipedia it.
