We have today been given our first round opponents for the League Cup. If you haven't seen it, it's Notts County at home.

Huddersfield Town v Notts County

BBC Radio Nottingham's Colin Slater: "Last season, Notts went out at the same stage to a Championship side in Sheffield Wednesday andthey were outclassed.
"This will be just as tough, if not tougher, being two divisions below their opponents this time.
"The school of thought saying there is nothing to lose could be relevant but it depends on the nature of the defeat. A big loss could really affect confidence.
"I would be surprised if Huddersfield do not play a strong side, but how strong Notts will be is difficult to see, given the apparent lack of transfer activity. Replacements are needed in midfield and up front before the season starts."

There's rumours going around that it's gonna be Charlton at home to start with. But that's all it is, rumours.

Hull City away. Facing old fat head. Decent first game that.
The one I'm interested in though is Preston Both Ends away.....bloody 6th Feb. At least it's a Saturday.

Yorkshire derby games, Roses matches and games against them there Larndan clubs come along in gurt lumps. At the moment we've 7 on the trot towards the end of the season through mid-March to mid-April against Yorks or Lancs clubs (and I include Hull and Middlesbro' as Yorkshire clubs regardless of wherever else our bloody Government's keep moving them to).

A quick gander down the list

First game of the season, happy with that...Fat head away.
First home game Blackburn at home, happy with that.
First London trip, Fulham away...might this yet get moved...should we dare to buy a train ticket?
Who the hell thought midweek trips to Charlton,Reading and MK was sensible?
Likewise who thought it was a good idea for Brighton,MK,Charlton and Reading to visit us midweek.

Gutted that Middlesboro away is a midweek game, I guess the £1.49 beers will have to wait for another day.

Happy with PNE at home Boxing Day, delighted we've QPR on the 28th...lack of trains and usual tube problems means I won't be attend and who the hell wants to visit Horwich on the 2nd of Jan....I'll be requesting a sunshine break instead.

Happy with a home game to finish off with Brentford.

Other notes, a final chance to visit Brentfords Griffin Park on a Saturday

There was an article on the FL website this week explaining how the fixtures are planned. Forgot to post it on here though.
