Please don't jump on me,but how long do we give Mr Irvine in his position as WBA first team coach.Given his start to the season after 4 games,of which we don't seem to be making any improvement whatsoever on last season, would 10 GAMES BE FAIR ENOUGH?....................Downing and Kiely need to go whatever.

I think 10 would be about fair, it would give AI time to get the squad up to match fitness and see how they do. I do think calling for his head now is a bit premature, even though I think he was the wrong appointment. We should after appointing him give him the chance to show what he can do with a match fit squad, rather than having to fill slots with whoever is fit.

Wouldn't hesitate to do it now to be truthful. its been a poor start to the season made worse by the performances. I accept that he hasn't had the full squad at his disposal. Then again, would it make a difference? I'm not convinced that Irvine a) would make changes to the starting line-up and b) if he did, would he know how to use the attacking players at his disposal. I understand those who say he needs time and normally I would agree. But do you believe that Irvine had the ability to turn things around for us? I don't personally. If we beat Burnley then what? Can anyone see us stringing 3-4 results together? Haven't seen anything in the last five games to make me think that we're suddenly going to be transformed into a good footballing side.

What makes everything worse is that we've spent over 12 million which never manager/coach up here gets anywhere near to spend. Why didn't we get a good manager in who could spent that money and actually know what he is doing. Seems like a waste at the moment. Hope I'm wrong

He should be sacked right away but not sure it will happen but even if he goes there still seems to be serious problems at the club
I know Odemwingie is not held in high regard anymore but you have to believe him when he was on about the West Brom dressing room some quotes from him seem to be bang on the money:
"It was the week before the end of the season," said Odemwingie. "We lost four zero. There were mistakes from players like Olsson, Foster, they had a bad game.
"Already by then I wasn't part of the team, I was just waiting for the summer to leave.
"But in Norwich I asked them:`Guys, why don't you tell each other off? It is four zero. Why is it only a few people you always pick on? Why don't you say one word? Not even one word?'
"I was kicked out, getting changed in a dressing room no bigger than my toilet.
"Now they are just picking on a young boy. There's people who shout in training, and why does no one say a word at the club?
"The best players, to me, were Shane Long and Gareth McAuley, neutral people, Billy Jones. They were just nice and respectful to everyone. But some are different to that."
Odemwingie, who is due to return to The Hawthorns with Stoke on the final day of the season, continued: "I don't like bullying, I don't like this seniority thing. In a football team everybody is the same
Odemwingie was spot on regarding the first part i highlighted 11 wins out of a possible 60 in the Prem since Jan '13 would back that up! Why don't they take responsibility and start winning games instead of hounding out Pepe Mel and coming out with the same bullshit every Monday morning "we need to stick together" etc etc
There is something seriously wrong at the club and it needs addressing right away, And it needs a strong minded manager to do it

I think Irvine needs to be given 4 or 5 more matches so he has a full squad available to pick from. However, if he continues with the same stale players in the next 4-5 matches and the results are still bad, then he will deserve to lose his job.
A good option to replace him is Shota Arveladze. He has led the small Turkish club Kasımpaşa to 2 successive 6th place finishes and has his teams playing high pressing attacking football.

If performances don't improve then Irvine will get the boot when the time is right. JP won't hang around after spending so much in the transfer market over summer, he'll want to see results like everybody else. But he's giving AI a fair crack of the whip which is as it should be. The pressure's on but it'd be foolish and unfair to sack him when he doesn't have the new players at his disposal. I think some fans have just taken a dislike to him and want to see him out whether or not he's the right man for the job. Booing players and piling on the pressure to try and get someone sacked is not supporting in my eyes.
