The youngsters need a bridge to get to the first team - youth football develops skills, but they need to test themselves against men. It helps if, when you have injuries, you bring in a young player of your own rather than loan in a Premiership development player (and do the job the teams with the big rewards should be doing for English football).

I think Morsy has to go for himself. Roberts, well if he wants to go, I'd be after Maghoma from the Wols big time. We certainly need another defender, a young defender. And I'd like to see a keeper to replace Chapman who has had time to prove he can reach the standard. No one doubts his ability, but a reserve keeper who is never fit is not even an ornament. And yes I'd try to sign an experienced striker, but he has to be cheap ...... because I'm still hoping Armand might lead our line.

Well the reserve team is coming back Dev so the budget must be getting increased slightly instead of being cut or being the same. Yes I agree we could do with a 3rd keeper but there's that young keeper who replaced Tommy in the Sheff Utd match when he got sent off so he could be a backup choice if he plays regularly in the youth team/ Reserve team.

I would like Margreitter here again. He was a good centre back. Experienced striker Craig Davies? Eidur Gudjohnsen? Emile Heskey? Michael Tonge? Gary Madine? Leon Clarke? All very good names.

God please no Matt, 6 names we can do without. Expensive wasters except Margreitter who would be a good one but at what cost? We will be a developing club looking to bring in young blood we can improve and move on for a good fee. That's the way are going and I have no problems with that. Non league strikers or young cast offs will be the way for us.

Yeah that is the problem Dancing, the experienced strikers who have been released from Championship clubs will want big wages to come and play for us.

I think you're being harsh on Craig Davies and Leon Clarke Dancing . Davies did great for us, but I think he might want more than we could give. Clarke on the other hand played for us in a team on a downer, topped the division's scoring charts for the months we had him, did well at Coventry too, but Wolves especially with Afobe coming in and then a bad Wigan team were too much. I think there are goals in him ..... but I suspect he's not the nicest character.

Heskey and Gudjohnsen are high class acts we could never get. Those who don't think Heskey can play should ask how he got Leicester into the top five playing on his own up front, collected all those England caps and was acclaimed by Michael Owen as far the best partner he ever found .........

I was thinking of a lower division striker, without a criminal record, or even a non-leaguer on the up.

I DON'T want a third keeper. I want to ditch Chapman. He's a wage and a medical expense who is never fit. I'd be happy to pick up someone from that same level and hope we could find a Daniel Bentley. They're out there. Young Lavercombe 18, just getting into Torquay's team has won a trial at Liverpool - we might pick up our own Daniel Bentley.

Bury are ready to pay £200k for Gary Roberts which was reported in todays Sun.

1. How do Bury have £200k? I don't believe this for a minute seeing as its the Sun.

2. Roberts is in his last year of his contract so do we sell him? or let him leave on a free next season?

Also Huddersfield and Leeds are interested in signing Tendayi.

Its a difficult one this .Robbo is nearly 32 I think so even if he stays this may be his last season with us.
If an offer of 200k was a reality it would be difficult to turn down, as influential as he is .

Difficult to turn down is a nice understatement Pooch. "Difficult", as in we'll drive him round to Gigg Lane gift-wrapped?

Tendayi will be a bargain for someone. Hope it's Huddersfield.

If I were Newcastle, who will apparently lose Janmaat in the summer. I'd give us one of Ashley's millions and take a punt. But there are several clubs in the bottom half of the Premier League who've played worse defenders all season.

Dev, Clarke is lazy IMO and is one of those players that is so frustrating to watch. You just know he is more than capable but he just doesn't seem to want it. That's why he has done the rounds and that's never going to change.
Craig Davies has done bog all since he left us other than improve his wage.
Am not saying either of them are no good, simply that they are not the type of player we want now. Whats the point paying good money to somebody who you will never get a fee for when you can sign somebody up and coming and develop them then move them on for a consideration? That has to be the way we move forward. It served Crewe well over the years.

Have to ask the Preston NE forum what his forms like

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/...anks-blake

Dean Saunders has made Sylvan Ebanks-Blake his first signing as Chesterfield manager.

The 29-year-old striker, whose short-term contract at Preston expired at the end of the season, played under Saunders at Wolves.

The Spireites boss told the official website: "Sylvan is just what the team needs.
