The skinny kid who we paid so much for has I think even to the people who loathe Man Utd become a true World Class keeper
Those are the players who save you numbers of points each season and help win matches, De Gea has done that again

If he wants to really go to Real Madrid let him go if he isnt committed to Man Utd
No player is irreplaceable-Best, Robson, Ronaldo, Cantona, Giggs, Charlton, Law, Beckham, Schmichael, Van der Saar, amongst others

Thats not big headed or exclusive to Man Utd its true as one day Messi wont be at Barca, Ronaldo wont be at RM etc, you learn to move on

So the list of possibilities should the worst happen:

Asmir Begovic
Hugo Lloris
Kasper Schmichael
Jasper Cillessen
Petr Cech

Not sure any of those are good enough to replace De Gea but if he dos go to RM, then why not go for Casillas?

For me Courtois and De Gea are currently the worlds best(talent, current form etc) followed by Neur and Buffon so anything less than those four defintely isnt good enough!

Casillas is probably a one-club man although I reckon at RM he`s past his best and actually a move would suit him, as that goes with also have Valdes

Cech really did nothing wrong at Chelsea and I reckon silly money before they`d sell to us (Mata?), awesome goalkeeper

Cillessen is currently in front of Krul, Vorm etc has like De Gea age on his side

Schmichael, seems to have been around a long time is he truly top drawer? Certainly saves Leics a few points and I`d have never got rid of him at Man City, but is he ever gonna be as good as Dad?

Lloris yes good goalie but is he Fabien Barthez MkII if Utd bought him? Not that Barthez was bad just not Schmichael class

Asmir Begovic, interesting one y`see if i was Brendan Rodgers i`d be thinking of a commanding keeper like him, could he make the step up to a huge club or is he Mignolet pt II?

Been a long time since we produced a truly world class keeper from Britain!!! We used to have an abundance of them but now they are all foreign!! Don't rate Kasper as anywhere near his fathers capability but he is good enough for the prem as he has shown. Cortois is quality and has the advantage of being a huge presence in the box. Not a lover of Buffon but Neur as you say is right up there with the best. Casillas is only 33, still has a good 5 years left and if De Gea is to move thereone of them will be very disappointed next season, so maybe a swap deal with money coming your way could be brokered. Casillas would certainly provide a lot of experiecne behind what has been a shaky defence, probably more so that De Gea.
