Looks like we aren't releasing anyone. But these are players which are out of contract.

Jimmy Ryan, Ritchie Humphreys, Michael Ovuwigun, Armand Gnanduillet, Drew Talbot. Problem is though the fans know nothing its just speculation and rumours till the club actually put a statement out there on who is staying and who is leaving.

I would like to see Drew be offered a new contract and Armand and Humphreys. Jimmy Ryan will probably join Sheffield United or follow Cook to Portsmouth.

Why does the retained list need to be published today?? I wasn't aware of a deadline on making that decision other than when the players contracts end, which is usually in June.

I read a reporter's tweet saying that the FA need retained lists from all of the Football league clubs by 16th May at 17:30, he probably got it wrong.

Cook wants Roberts, Ryan, Morsy, Darikwa, Gardner and Banks, Portsmouth can xxxx off wanting to raid our squad.

Thing is how does that work for the teams still in the Play-offs, would hardly be a morale booster for any players who are not retained but still needed for the final game!!

Don't know Charles, maybe they get an extended Deadline.

This is the tweet I saw.

Paul Fisher@pkfsport May 15

Expect Chesterfield to release the retained list today or tomorrow as the Football League deadline is 16th May for all clubs. #spireites

Morsy won't go to Portsmouth and half the squad won't Portsmouth and there fans are deluded and are not living in the real world. They think that Chesterfield are a soft touch and reckon they can get Roberts, Morsy, Darikwa, Banks and Gardner for a steal. I would say Morsy is worth about £1 million - £1.5 million. Darikwa worth about £500k - £750k and Roberts, Banks and Gardner probably worth about £100k - £250k.

Perhaps Portsmouth would like our ground too .........

As Cook's deal was clearly fixed weeks and weeks ago I'm sure some arrangment has been reached as to how many (if any) players can leave with him. Unless Mr Turner's ultimate aim is to empty our club and take over at Portsmouth I suspect he's a much cleverer wheeler-dealer than Mr Cook. Cook's advantage is he knows more about football .... but in sneakiness Turner will leave him for dead.

The funny thing is Portsmouth obviously think they've made quite a coup. Little do they realise they are just being invited to share in another episode of their own manipulation on a road towards their eventual exit from the Football League.

The retained list has been issued.

Charlie Dawes and Jack Broadhead have been released which we already knew a few months ago.

Dean Saunders said he wants to retain Jimmy Ryan, Drew Talbot and Armand Gnanduillet and will speak to them as soon as possible.

There are a lot of rumours doing the rounds that suggest Dave Allen wanted rid of Cook because he was becoming unmanageable. It would seem the pubs in Pompey will be seeing a big upturn in business when the ex CFC entourage hit the town.

I'm a bit concerned that if Saunders manages to re sign the 3 out of contract will that be his budget used up ? He will then be forced to move players on in order to bring in his own .I was under the impression Cookie had no money left to bring in players unless, like you say Dancing, there had been a fall out and DA told him no more money .
