Maybe Liverpool won't be able to bounce back against us. With Spurs winning today, and Southampton still breathing down their necks, losing this semi-final must make them mentally vulnerable - or hopefully so, anyway.
And dearie me, if we can win at Palace, we can surely win at Newcastle.

I was actually half-hoping for a Newcastle win today to see them safe. It surely can't have escaped anyone's attention that our wins this year (notably Swansea, West Ham, Southampton, Stoke and Palace yesterday) have been against teams with either nothing to play for or who've thought they only had to show up to win, and we've caught them napping as a result. In contrast, when we play sides fighting for their lives (Villa, QPR, Leicester), we just can't match them.
If Newcastle are still on 35 points going into our game then I think we may end up rolling over for them.

I think the Newcastle players aren't responding to John Carver, who looks as if he's fast running out of ideas.
