Really? I mean really?
150m spent and nothing to show
LVG out!
How Felliani has turned it round, as has Valencia and Ashley Young well if he`s not in the next England squad then its a Tottenham loving fix! Three players who we all graoned at last year have had immense seasons
De Gea is superb, cant really say more totally World Class
Last season was disastrous, awful, insepid, Dave Sexton Mark II-I know its not always been the beautiful game this year and a few odd results but what LVG has done is turning us around has been massive, truly massive

150m spent!!!!!!!!! Thats a lot of money to spend to get into 3rd or 4th place isn't it?? I don't think the team is any better now than the one last season, the difference is better tactics and formations from LVG. But spending 150m to achieve that is really no achievement at all!! If I was a MU fan I would be disappointed in this seasons return on that investment, but at the moment the memory of last season is making any progress seem worth it!!

I`d be more peed if I were a club below us, esp the likes of Man City who spent the likes of 40M on a dire defender amongst their other botches
I`m afraid SCO thats the price of top four nowadays, dont spend that and no matter if your a Man Utd or Liverpool with a great history players wont neccesarily come to play for you unless your in the Champions league as very sad as that seems
I`m not sure what Man Utd`s spending will be like over the summer, I sort of think and hope we`ll be preparing the young players for years to come rather than just investing in transfers
Of course the side is better, you can have Fletcher and Cleverley passing sideways or Herrera and the re-inspired Carrick
Re-inspired Carrick, Young, Valencia, Mata and Felliani all who illicited many groans last year
Come on Daley Blind v Tom Cleverley !

But thats my point, LVG is proving more capable than Moyes at getting more out of the players that Moyes signed or already had, that means he is a better coach. But realistically the 150m spent hasn't altered the make-up of the team that much, he is just doing better with the ones that were already there, with I accept one or two exceptions. On that basis, was the 150m spent wisely or was some of it spent in desperation just to make a change?? If I was a MU fan, I wouldn't be unhappy with the progress made, but I would be questioning the quality that was brought in for the cost outlaid, and to me that is the only cloud hanging over LVG, albeit a minor one!!

Yeah and i`ll accept that (and quite happy also that Ive got a discussion going on the Man U board!)
Falcao may or may not be suited to either English football or Man Utd`s style of play, yes disappointed esp given his supposed wages
Rojo has been really no better than what is already there thus far, Smalling suprisingly has been the star centre back
ADM, looked every inch the World class player then faded, i`m definitely expecting more next season lets hope he kicks on ala Suraez
Shaw was bought before LVG whilst he looked solid its nothing spectacular and has been oft out injured
Blind for me the best purchase and bit of a bargain, great runner in midfield but currently superb at Left back
Herrera was bought also pre LVG and now starting to repay the investment, it was a lot of money to pay for a non-international and I do believe the club has paid over the odds for a few players in the last few years
Personally over the summer i`d rather we were prudent and didnt sign a known 50m Striker rather that we got the likes of Depay, Hummels etc under 20M

I suppose the benchmark has been set by Chelsea, big spenders yes, but generally their big signings live up to the hype, or have done recently!! Of the players you mention above I am not sure any of them would get into the Chelsea team at the moment with maybe the exception of Blind. I like ADM, he looked great to start with but as you say has faded. Falcao for me would be a waste of money, I don't think he is suited to English football at all.
The key to this summer will be the offer of Champions League football at OT again. Last season you were buying players with no CL on offer and to be fair a prospect of still being outside the top 4 this season as well. LVG has steadied the ship and has you firmly in the top 4, that is going to make it much easier to attract players. Of course its the opposite for Liverpool and I can see them struggling to get the players they need and losing Sterling in the process. Sterling to OT???

Turkey, since you posted this thread your Red Devils have played 3, lost 3 and conceded 5 without reply!!! Chelsea was to be expected, Everton was an awful performance and today just lacked any real creativity or anyone who could take hold of the game by the scruff of the neck and drag them across the line!! I cannot fathom what LVG was thinking with both Rooney and RVP playing so deep and Fellaini up front on his own, but tactical error for a home game!! Looks like the battle will be on now with Liverpool to get that 4th place, a spot both teams desperately need!!

Scaringly enough is the against 5 scored 0!
Dominating possession massively to me thats superb, its working well and defence looks a lot stronger
breaking a team down and scoring seem the real problem ATM-people on various forums have talked about `no real pace` but when you have Januzaj/the off color ADM/Young/Mata it shouldnt be a problem or having talent that can open defences ADM/Mata/Herrera etc at worst the tactic becomes lump it at Felliani
Falcao and RVP have been massive disapointments this year, thank cluck for Rooney
At least Liverpool`s attack is as bad or i`d worry, Sturridge out for the rest of the season

I think the midfield lacks real quality and certainly some pace, but the space creating striker is also missing as well. Fellaini is statuesque up front and does all his work once he has the ball, but that was creating no space at all. Going to be a busy summer, although I do expect you to hold onto 4th place!!
