Well its another point closer to that coveted play off place and the other results went for us
We weren't brilliant on a bobbly pitch but did enough to earn a draw .Both sides could have won it so I'm happy to take a point.
Tuesday now becomes crucial because a win there would just about secure 6th place I reckon especially if Rochdale dont win.
Ive said 69 points will be enough and I still believe that.
If we do get promoted we should offer Cookie a 10 year contract and give him the freedom of Chesterfield. He would never have to buy another pint again !

What would anyone do with the freedom of Chesterfield? Just wonderin' .....
We want Swindon to win on Tuesday, but all they've really got to play for is to get us or Rochdale in the play-offs rather than Sheff Utd ....... But they must think they could beat us. Colchester will be desperate to beat us, even a draw might not be enough for them.
The risk with the gamble of starting some of the older players in every game was always injury. How's Evatt? We won't know if the gamble paid off till the fat lady does her stuff ..... and even then we won't know what would have happened if we'd left players out for one of the games we actually won. What we did got us to a very good position didn't it?
Do we now gamble by sticking on some fresh legs? Maybe Gnanduillet, or start Harrison again ..... and play Clucas deeper? Or do we set up much the same? I'm glad Mr Cook's making the decision. I'd gamble, but at what point does that become self-harm?
Whatever happens all the lads and backroom team have done brilliantly. They've shown real spirit and got into a position we all hoped for, but none of us truly expected. Beat Colchester and Oldham, might that be enough?

70-72 pts I reckon will get us 6th. Sheffield United fans think Chesterfield will fall out the playoffs and they want Rochdale to finish 6th. There also very confident and arrogant that they will get to the final at Wembley and win it. Over the last 4 seasons teams which finished 4th in League 1 got promoted via playoffs. Rotherham, Yeovil, Huddersfield and Peterborough. The last team to finish 6th in League 1 got promoted via playoffs was Scunthorpe back in 2008/09. Could we be the first team since Scunthorpe to finish 6th and get promoted? I hope so.

Wouldn't start Harrison. He looked way off the pace yesterday and just didn't seem to want it. Same starting 11 for me. Big game Tuesday and if we win just 1 more should see us retain 6th. Happy days.

Tbh Dev I dont really know what the freedom of the city entitles the recipient to .Maybe you can enlighten me.
I think Cookie will go with the same starting line up excepting the injured Evo ,even though I think the lone front man role isn't really suiting Clucas. Its a difficult role to play and Doyle had it off to a tee and also Lavery was just moulding nicely into it .before he went back.
We have the bit between our teeth and I'm confident we can get that vital win on Tuesday.I just hope the townsfolk turn out to see it .

Yes Matt I know, but at this stage in our season the last thing we want is to play somebody who's heart isn't in it.

Well i was told by a Cheltenham fan that he was like that for them. When Armand plays he puts his heart and soul into it.

When we played both Gnanduillet and Doyle it worked well for a number of games. I'd play Gnanduillet and Clucas as Gnanduillet is happy to be the front man with his partner coming from a deeper position. But that's me. Mr Cook is more likely to go with Dancing. his selection, not at centre forward.
Here's a thought though, Darikwa, Talbot and Humphreys have all probably more experience at centre forward than Clucas. And another thought is, how will it affect Harrison long-term if we don't turn to him when we so obviously need him? And a third thought is, is Dieseruvwe fit, because we could commit to youth, couldn't we?

And just why don't you think I'm good enough? I am 6'5" and well built. The fact I am in my later years matters not. I can still run 20 yards in 20 minutes and kick a ball 10' from a standing position. What more do you want?
