I said stick with Irvine at the time and  I was right
We'd be bottom now under Irvine.
____________

Where do you think we're heading now, worst squad and worst manager we've ever had
Come on pal, Tony Pulis is clearly not the worst manager we've ever had, nor is this the worst squad we've ever had.

Well, there you go! Someone earlier was saying "fairies like Brunt and Morrison etc etc creating the same cancerous atmosphere and being p!ss poor with no fight year after year".
I wonder if that particular person went to the game today.

I presume you at least did go, Worldclassalbion?

Tidy,
Just got back from the game. It's probably best I pour myself a nice big drink and sit in the sun wearing my Astle T-shirt and think about anything else than what I have just witnessed...AGAIN !
The blood is starting to boil so no more today .

Get to the train station and my dad has left the tickets at home Angry Huh

Manage to only miss a minute and all the pre game stuff (which was a shame)

Great atmosphere and the kit looked fantastic.

Defence was shocking and we created very little, I don't know how we scored twice.

4 centre backs and we concede from a cross Doh

Conceding from a knockdown was bad too Sick

Myhill, dealt with the crosses well and confident off his line.

Dawson, Schlupp murdered him with his pace, embarrassing at times

McAuley, atrociously horrendous for their winner, seemed ok otherwise

Lescott, I thought ok

Brunt, some great deliveries but Albrighton showed him up as a winger playing as a full back, occasionally not given enough protection (I think Morrison and Berahino very briefly swapped positions about halfway through the second half which exposed Berahino's lack of positional awareness (presumably because he isn't a left winger)). Some poor passing aswell.

Gardner, scored but poor, not a winger and some wayward passes.

Yacob, thought he was quite good, shielded the defence quite well and broke up play

Fletcher, mostly good, mainly passed very well

Morrison, impressive tries to put himself about and can dribble quite far with the ball

Berahino, ok and stronger than I thought (again) but he doesn't do headers. Sometimes showed some of his quality but maybe shouldn't sidefoot so many shots.

Ideye, tried

Olsson, why did he come on? Being defensive to close out a game doesn't work. I don't find him reassuring anymore.

Sess, decent

Anichebe, maybe could have worked a bit more sometimes but we barely attacked in the time he was on.

I'm not a great Pulis fan, as some have noticed, nor was I particularly impressed with AI, but, for me, we played much better 'football' when Irvine was in charge.

I'll duck.... Whistle

In my opinion, the blame for today should be aimed at both the players and the coaching staff. The players deserve blame because of their spineless performances which lacked determination and pride. Tony Pulis and his coaching staff deserve blame because they keep picking certain under-performing players in a formation which no longer works, they are using tactics which teams now know how to play against and some of the substitutions they make are the wrong ones at the wrong times.

Fortunately our safety is in our own hands and we don't have to pin all our hopes on other teams failing. Hopefully we can get over the line as soon as possible.

West Brom could lose to Leicester & Palace and still stay up, even with their current points total. They could lose these games and pick up points in the last 5 games that everyone thinks they are going to lose.' In my opinion, if the team finish 17th or better, they DON'T DESERVE to go down, regardless of who they win or lose against. If they finish in the bottom three, they do.

Ok, let's do it your way and see how we get on. Wink

My way? Apologies if I hit a raw nerve with my post last night.

I'm as disappointed as anyone with todays debacle, especially the second half display.

West Brom don't have a divine right to beat Leicester City or anyone else for that matter. There are NO easy games and if the players don't apply themselves correctly or think they are already over the line in terms of safety, performances like this (against teams who have nothing to lose like Leicester / QPR) are going to ruin all the hard work done against Swansea, Southampton, Stoke etc. Also, the management team must take their share of the blame too.

However, todays defeat still doesn't mean that West Brom deserve to go down.

Aries yes mate i was there unfortunately. I got quite emotional to be honest with the build up and the like. First half we were ok ish, second half was the worst i have seen in 40 years! Embarrasing, has totally ruined my week again.

BC Baggie & tidy.
Seriously guys you come on here and say we would be better off under Irvine ??
Why ?
Our home record under AI was horrific, what makes you think that would have got any better ?
We are in big trouble after 2 horrific home defeats but come on guys !!!!!!
Big clear out in the summer - yes !
More pace and decent LB & RB and something resembling a winger - yes
A forward that tries and looks like scoring - yes ! Ideye - sorry pal but you ain't good enough and Berahino you are a lazy wasteful selfish excuse for a number 9. Bye bye big head you are not fit to clean Astle's boots let alone wear the number 9 shirt .
Dawson - wank
Lescot - snail
G-Mac - WTF ?
Please god let the season end quick and get rid of this shite.

Knocking TP at this stage is crazy.

We will survive and gave a major summer rebuild.

Irvine was totally out of his depth and to wish we still had him at the helm is a crazy way to go.

It isn't pretty, agree with that.

This season can't finish soon enough. The summer and next season is BIG.
