Its easter which can only mean one thing! No not chocolate, there is something even bigger than that, yes huddersfield are back in action in their desperate attempt to gain another point, lets face it going for three would be like going all in with a pair of twos in chris powells mind!
Obviously the chocolate is a very good way of celebrating that massive point, but it is also a good way to comfort should we lose. At least there will be a few more excuses to brand around like; the players were too tired from building sand castles...sorry 'playing' football on Sheffield Wednesday's 'pitch'. Then there could be the one about the players having eaten too many easter eggs. I wonder if they will have had a snickers one to get some nuts or maybe a yorkie to make them men? Maybe dean and chris chipped in to get them one of our own brand easter eggs each? Perhaps that is a sign, seeing as our performances since last year have been as hollow as the chocolate egg.
But easter isnt all about the chocolate (believe it or not ) and is also about rebirth and new life (the Hillsborough pitch needs some of that) but maybe just maybe it is a sign of our side having new life, hudson becoming a spring chicken once again, vaughan and lynch having new injury free rebirths and the whole team having the new spirit and speed of a hare rather than acting like a trapped soul and a rabbit in the headlights.
But yes football. Football, football, football. Its a poor do really. A lot of money for little action. Players being paid a lot for little end results. I'm struggling for internet at this moment so really all I'm doing is padding it out!
But really yes, monday. Huddersfield go into the game after surviving a late scare, sounds unusual... ishmael miller proved to have that finishing touch and all round change of style when we needed it most. 8 points between us and the drop but i reckon we are safe for another year. But it always seems like it is going to be a struggle, its league one football for chanpionship prices, maybe its time we caught up with where we are, rather than where we have been otherwise we will be back there and back to twiddling thumbs contemplating whether a damp tuesday night trip to fleetwood is wise. I dare say it cant be that hard to play passing, attacking possession based football, Bournemouth do it, in fact all the top teams do it, yet we are happy to lump it aimlessly and long. For the money they get paid 5 yard passes in a forward motion as in give and go should not be out of the question.
I havent seen ipswich play much this season but i know they are up there and in mick they have an old clever head who knows how to shut up shop and get scrappy wins when needed, that could be the case on monday so dont expect loads of goals it maybe the one between the two sides. This Ipswich side went to Watford and came away with a late winner so they can resist the big teams pressure. They are strong aerially so we may look fruitless there. Hopefully we can attack the flanks and get their defence back tracking that may be our way through.
As for teams, i think town will be relatively unchanged, but with miller in for wells. As for ipswich i dont really know. All i know is if they have murphy up top it will be physical.
I'm sorry but in my heart i cannot see us winning, we never look like winning any more. We could be 9-
1 up like real and we would still throw it away!
Anyways sorry it is late, brief and pictureless. I have only just got Internet on my phone working. So when you all wake up you have something to read!
Merry easter and happy eating! :p
