Got To Be Sharp To Succeed
#1
In the last close season, when we were naively wondering how we could score enough goals with only Eoin Doyle to get them for us, a player I suggested might be worth a look was Omar Bogle. His great name attracted me, but last season he scored 19 goals for Solihull Moors, this season he's top scorer in his division again and his team is struggling to be halfway up the table. He's only 22. Started out with Birmingham City.

Apparently Port Vale are taking a look at him with a view to signing him this summer. They've done pretty well with signing goalscorers in recent years ...... but so have we. Maybe whilst the Vale are humming and hardy-ha-haing we could just jump in and make an offer for next season he'd find difficult to refuse. Solihull produced Matty Smith after all.

Taking a chance on such players is our only way forward and sometimes you have to be quick and a bit ruthless to make it work. And now we've got a bit of history of giving non-league players a break they should be quite keen to sign.

I'm sure Paul Mitchell is aware of him Dev .I'm expecting more of the like of Banks and Gardner to come in during the summer but Im also thinking we might have a bit of money to spend this time ,not necessarily on transfer fees but maybe bigger wages .I'll guess that a few names will come in which may raise a few eyebrows.

Hope you are right Pooch.

I think the better the wages the more attractive we are at first sight .... easpecially to players who see someone similar to them succeeding with us.
